I got to get out and ride raining but it's around 67 deg. as long as you don't go to fast once your wet it's not bad. It hasn't rained enough to get the trails good & muddy yet.

Poll what did you start out riding on
hangingon replied to hangingon's topic in General Talk - Anything Goes!
The scooter looking must have been the QA50 I thought they looked cooler then the mini trail50. A QA was the first bike I ever rode. My friend came to my house on his. I had been asking my dad for a bike. He ask my friend if I could ride his and if I made a lap around the house without crashing he would buy me one. I almost took out the carport railing, 1 tree & the shed but I made the lap and he stuck to his word. The only problem was I was wanting a Honda like my friends and I got a rigid frame mini bike. Once I found the govner I could flip it with my foot and blow the 50's away in a drag race that was the most fun I had with it other wise it would beat you up pretty bad on the trails. -

toolman we did the same with our SL70's my cousin & I had. We even added a motocross number plate where the headlight was & I also changed out the metal fenders for plastic fenders better knobby's and drilled out the pipe. -
I think this ? show's some of our ages lol some of us only had 1 to choose & that would be the dirtbike. We didn't have 3 wheelers, quads & UTV's

Fairmount is Moto Mountain.
-
Highland park is the 1 in Cedartown There is a place people go to ride it's not a park. It's in Cedartown called treat moutain their are a few vids on youtube. And it's free + a local homeowner put in gas pumps for the riders to refuel.
-
Thanks for the info JustRandy. I live in west,ga Cedartown,ga has a place to ride near where I live but it caters to bikes they have an onsite KTM shop. So as far as atv's I don't think KTM has them in their lineup anymore I feel thats the reason it's not much there for the ATV folks. Fairmount, ga by what I've read has a good riding park but I for get how long it takes us to get to Fairmount but it might be worth the drive.

2005 Suzuki 700 Twinpeaks - Fuel/Carb Probs
hangingon replied to blazer69's topic in Suzuki ATV Forum
Your Twinpeaks if I'm right is a joint build with Kawasaki it should have the same v-twin motor as the Prairie. On the right side of your quad look at your intakes their is a vacum port on each 1 make sure they are blocked off with vacum caps check all vacum hoses check fuel lines for cracks I agree Cheriah your sucking air an not fuel & the choke lets it get more fuel. Did you sync the carbs after removing & cleaning them. Their is an adjustment screw on the left side of the quad for that adjustment but you need a synchronize tool or you can make your own. The 2 vacum ports I was saying to check for vacum caps is where you hook up the sync tool. Your air/fuel mixture screws are on the right side those should be 2.5 to 3 turns out from closed. Is the quad popping thru the carbs or backfiring out the exhuast? -
Cool vid there JustRandy so where is windy gap at in GA. It has to be North,Ga somewhere? Is this at a riding park?

I can't say myself which is better or will last longer. But back in the 80's when I worked for American performance we sold warn winches I never recall having 1 returned and I worked in the returns. What we stocked was for the 4x4 trucks and for trailers for guys who used a winch to load cars. Warn has built a name for it's self by building a good product. Another thing to think about is customer service and standing behind their product. This is a great site but I would go type in reviews for the winches your looking at buying. I have found doing a search for trouble shooting and seeing how many people have posted for help can be good. You should be able to tell the ones thats not to bright and can't operate a light switch. but read the ones where they have had them for a while.

1997 Polaris Sportsman 500 - Reverse Idle Problem
hangingon replied to reedl's topic in Polaris ATV Forum
I don't know how or what it does to our quads to cause them to pop and sputter when we over throttle them in reverse. I call them stutter boxs or rev box thats what it's called on a car that puts them into limp mode. I would search for a wiring diagram for it for starters and see how the over ride button is wired in and if ties into a controll box. Sorry it's all I can think of. I'm sure with all the members on here someone will have the answer. -
My good friend picked up a 2012 grizzly 700 with 20 hours on it for 5,000.00 it was a repo! The ride was smoother it felt lite in the front when turning my Prairie seems like a workout. Then it came down to you wanna run'em why not was my answer he was about a quad & 1/2 in front of me and said go and took off so I had to try and catch up & pass him and that didn't happen I caught up but didn't get by him. Round 2 he didn't get a jump start & my old Prairie took the win. I think the V-Twin engine just seems to have more torque over the single cylinder. I thought for sure he would win.

Sounds good send it as soon as you can.

It was 78 degrees were going to be in the lower 60's & 50's for highs this week & thats still good riding weather. I will trade you swampcat for some cold & snow. We don't see snow too often.

Can-ams new 100hp UTV what do you think
hangingon replied to hangingon's topic in General Talk - Anything Goes!
I like it that there is compition It keeps a company on their toes to build a better product. But to push the horse power so high is useless if you have no place to use it. On the trails I ride 36mph is about the fastest you can run before getting hard on the brakes. Just like on a MX track you only have so much room. I know some people have a place to use all that power and can enjoy it. I rather see the eps, better suspension, and cup holders lol over horse power. Now I don't want a wimpy motor either. I think it was a Kauzuma 110 my daughters e-ton 90 was alot faster. -
Can-ams new 100hp UTV what do you think
hangingon replied to hangingon's topic in General Talk - Anything Goes!
I can't see spending the money for a new quad or utv. I only gave 13,000.00 out the door for my preowned 06 Dakota quad cab 4x4. The BF750i in camo aftermarket wheels & tires eps is 15,000 at our local Kawa dealer. I gave 1,600.00 for my prairie 650 it has more power than I can use it's not as pretty as a new one but it's paid for. I don't mind using my quad to make a new path if I had 1 of them new shiney 1's I wouldn't want to beat it up they cost to much. I get a chance to see if my old prairie can hang with a newer Grizz 700 tomarrow. -
I took the old prairie out and had some fun but it was hot today so I cut my ride time down. Came home and was going to rest I knew I should have came in the house & not stay in the garage. Now the xr100's motor is out of the bike and the top end is apart.

Can-ams new 100hp UTV what do you think
hangingon replied to hangingon's topic in General Talk - Anything Goes!
Here's my own thought if the can-am comes out on top. polaris may let them have the glory for a little bit and then show'em they can build a better handeling & faster RZR than the current RZR & takeout the new can-am. Polaris has been leading the UTV market too long to let another company get ahead. -
Can-ams new 100hp UTV will it become the new top dog of the utv war or will polaris still remain on top?
