THANKS Ox !! Yeah, I wanted to play around more in the river but I'm not crazy about do'in stuff with other people around. So when I made the return trip & all these scouts were down at the river, I didn't want to appear to be show'in off, so I just rode thru & kept on go'in !! Dang kids anyway !! Now that I have your attention ... ... I decided to go to the Uintah Mountains east of my home for a ride and check out the snow. Where I parked the truck to unload is about 110 miles one way from my home, so I left the house at 0500 ... :coffee: ... and headed out for a Great Day of rid’in !! Stopped for some morning vittles & was on the trail by 0830. :woot: Again, riding early like that puts the sun in a bad position for the camera … and it always seems like I’m riding into it … guess that’s better than riding off into the sunset huh !!?? … WHAT ?? :toetap05c: A lot of the riding here is between 9000 ft and the highest elevation I reached yesterday was 10,500 ft plus … and it’s some steep country. Lots of standing dead pine trees due to a forest fire in the past and then the pine beetles aren’t helping either. But it’s still really gorgeous country. Saw a few mule deer, so that makes it interesting as well. At the river, when it’s wide, looks slow, and you can see the bottom so easy … one never knows just how deep it might be. And riding alone, I didn’t want to end up with a drowned bike, so you’ll see, I was pretty cautious crossing the first time … and that’s some mighty cold water!! My wife went to Vegas for the weekend for some family stuff .... wonder if she'll be talk'in to me when she gets back ?? ........ Anyway, decided to go for a ride today. I knew there would be a lot of people out on Saturday, so I left the house at 0515 & I was on the trail ... actually, it was a road, by 0700 ... One problem with videoing that early in the days is the sun is low & gets in the camera a lot ... but OH WELL !! I really didn't see any game today, but I did see a nice big coyote !! Had a heck a good ride ... and then all the people started to show up ........ Hey, I can't help it, OK ... I like to ride and ride as often as I can. I also like to share my rides with others ... so enjoy !! Went for a ride yesterday, IT WAS GREAT !! I saw elk, deer, antelope, a badger, some hawks & lots of pot gut squirrels. There were lots of down trees but I stilled managed to do 62 miles ... and those Elka Shocks are awesome !! Here's a short vid of the days ride ... make sure ya watch it in 1080p ... ...

Went winter rid'in last Saturday, the 18th. It rained like a SOB all nite & it was still rain'in to beat the band when I left the house at 0500 for the ride (Yeah, I like to leave early). :coffee: It was 31 degs F when I unloaded the bike, and Yup, it was snow'in ... it was just try'in at first but later on, it was do'in pretty good. :woot: I tried to get off on the snow a couple times, but it was soft & deep & I didn't feel like digg'in or winch'in ... so I turned around to ride at a lower elevation (7000 ft instead of the 9000 ft where I was) ... and the bike was clean up to that point .... sigh .... and I was also dry !! Yes, my expensive rain suit bibs leaked !! I'll bet I don't have a dozen rides with these & they leak. I think it must be from the rubbing of the material (Gore-Tex) on the seat while riding !!?? :wiggle: So I stuff a sweat shirt in my bibs (probably looked like I was carry'in a load, if ya know what I mean !! :smilielol5c: ) ... and I rode another 15 miles. At that point I stopped at a Forest Service shack that had an overhang porch, had some lunch, & put my other rain pants on underneath the bibs ... and rode another 30 miles. But I'm pissed !! Out do'in some Pre-Mother's Day Rid'in !! WOO HOO !! Went out to 5 Mile Pass and headed to the small mining town of Eureka to refuel (not that I needed it) & to get a burger. Saw a few Jack Rabbits & no people (except by the truck) until I got to Eureka. When I got to Eureka, there was a large group of photographers taking a lot of different photo's of women. Not sure if it was to promote Eureka, or for some fashion magazine ?? Remember, watch it at 1080p. Well, I did have my Gore-Tex rain suit on, so no worries about gett'in wet or to cold ... besides, I'm kind of a big kid at heart & it's pretty difficult not splash'in around in every puddle of water I see ... SAVVY !!?? And yeah, if the water is too deep, the "Brickwall" affect can send a guy over the handlebars ... Again, Glad you enjoyed the video & THANKS for watch'in too !! :cheers2c: ...

Why THANK YOU Quad Nutty Guy !! Ours is melting too, but we still have about 6 ft on top so it'll be a while until we get up there to ride ... however, I do plan on going as high as I can next time I go. It was so cold with the wind & I hadn't planned on that so I didn't have my balaclava to wear under my helmet & the cold air scream'in thru my motocross helmet just flat froze my bald skull !! :coneheadc: ... :smilielol5c: We've been gett'in storms up high same as you ... and more next week !! Decided to head up to the mountains and see if the snow is melting much ... it was 21 degs F when I got to the staging area, the wind was howl'in & it was try'in to snow Up higher it was snow'in.
