Between my son and I we have 14 of the Harbor Freight chargers in use. They have worked great.

bodon started following 2011 Polaris Sportsman 850 4th Ignition Switch , ATV Battery Trickle Charger , riding mower wont start and 2 others

I had a 2 week old new mower do that. The safety switch on the seat went bad. By passed it and away it went. Never bothered to take it in.

I had the same problem.I put a switch in the line that keeps everything "alive" when the ATV is off. Clock etc. That solved the problem. Hasn't failed to start since I put the switch in. Mine is a 2011 850 Sportsman. I only have 1300 miles on it and is in showroom condition. I've had this problem for years and can find nothing wrong. So either my Polaris has a hidden problem or the batteries today are all junk. I'm on my 4th battery. However this one (since I put the switch in) is holding up just fine and hasn't failed to start or even turn over slowly yet. Problem solved.

Anyone know what the fuse terminal marked UNSWITCH does . Even with the key off it is causing a drain on my battery and I'm trying to figure out what that terminal goes to. It's a 10 amp fuse. If I pull it the "short" goes away. Thanks in advance.

Took it apart and it looked fine. No sign of any burn spots at all. I don't get it. New switch is working fine.

Good idea. I have the most recent bad one. The ATV is 100% stock. No add ons of any sort.

I have a 2011 850 Sportsman. Has been absolutely trouble free except for 1 thing. I am on my 4th. ignition switch. I don't know if it's that they are all chinese junk or what. It gets to a point when you turn the key and it will act like the battery is going bad. Cranks real slow or not at all. Put a new switch in and its fine. New one will last 1 1/2 - 2 years and its junk. I've had the Polaris brand and after market. As a matter of fact the original one lasted the lest amount of time. Other than that it's been a perfect machine . No electrical problems. No battery problems. Just curious if anyone else has had the same issue.
