  1. I changed your topic title to generate more replies by having what you are actually asking about in the title. 😁 I don't recommend it unless absolutely necessary. If you are working on your ATV, you should raise it up. As far as if it's safe, I would disconnect the battery so you don't get any ignition starts accidentally and the other safety issue is rolling over on someone, so make sure it's well supported.
  2. Thanks for posting this @domesticated, I really had no idea about the quality of Kymco or if it was comparable to some of the main stream manufacturers on the market. Great pics, they look like fun and well designed ATVs. * Topic moved to Kymco ATV forum.
  3. That's great to hear! Keep us posted and good luck. Wonder if the fix is replacing the entire unit or something else.
  4. * Topic moved to Polaris forum.
  5. * Topic moved to Polaris forum.
  6. You clearly have power from your battery, it's just a matter of isolating why your ignition switch isn't turning things on.
  7. I changed your title and moved this topic to the Honda forum. You should add these to downloads section because it's a library of manuals and other info https://www.quadcrazy.com/files/ 😁
  8. Check all your connections and check that ignition switch. * Added ATV info into your topic title.
  9. Is that from http://www.atv-guru.com/? Did you get some and have a pic to share?
  10. What valve are you referring to? It could also be the starter relay or solenoid, not sure what that ATV has. Is there something like this around the starter area? This solenoid is also available on amazon for @ $12 so the good thing is that these parts aren't too expensive but you'll need to see exactly what you need with some further tests. You could jump the solenoid directly from the battery when its not starting to see if it starts. If it does, you've isolated that it's not the starter or solenoid and you need to work back up to the batter and ignition.
  11. Have you seen this recall? http://www.polaris.com/en-us/company/article/polaris-recalls-sportsman-all-terrain-vehicles-due-to-crash-hazard
  12. So you tapped it with a hammer and it started? If so, you may just need to replace that starter motor. I would test a few times again when it doesn't start. You can find these online and if it looks like the image below you can get it on Amazon for @$24
  13. @Sophy Osborn I would check all your cables from your battery to your starter, make sure they are tight. Is this an older ATV, sounds like you bought used, do you know what year it is? It could have a bad starter with a low spot so what you could do when it doesn't start, tap the starter with a small hammer a few times to see if it then starts. Then you know its a bad starter. You could also jump the starter directly off the battery if you have some wire/cables to see if it starts and isolate a bad starter.
  14. I agree with @davefrombc, contact Polaris directly. * I added your ATV model and issue into your topic title.
  15. I would need to see the front and closer images, but it looks like an older 2000-2002 Honda Recon 250. That's my guess.
  16. Like @Frank Angerano said and you can also copy and paste into a topic. So if you copy an image just click paste and it'll upload. You can also add it to the gallery section and take the URL and copy and paste into a topic.
  17. I changed your topic title a bit to add the issue and full ATV info so hopefully you'll get some better answers as people search here and on the web. It's odd because if there was an issue, it would usually show Err or something like that. How many hours were you riding when you did the 9 and 13 miles?
  18. Yeah, they need to make money so they don't want to offer free diagnostic help over the phone.
  19. I'm not 100% sure, but you may want to contact another suzuki dealer, specifically the parts department and ask if they need to program anything. Maybe hours don't come up for a reason unless programmed by a dealer. Just guessing though.
  20. I have to get a wire wheel bench setup. I only have an attachment I use on my screw gun.
  21. Those always seems to me like a utility quad dressed in sport quad plastics. It's not going to be a rocket ship, but should be able to get up there in speed as most utility 400 and 450 quads I used to own a Yamaha Kodiak 450 and it was fine and had good low end but wasn't a speedster of the starting line. Now if it's slipping, that's another thing. Do you have it in 4WD or 2WD, if I recall there is a selector.
  22. Love this topic! Inspired me. I plan cleaning up my Grizzly, I have a lot of rust I'm seeing. I uses a snowsport plow system now in the winter and the bar is covered with rust. Once there is no threat of snow, I'm going to take it off and wire wheel the rust off. Then I'll spray some rust converter/primer and then some spray paint. I have to check my front end for play, replace my fuel petcock (because it's leaking), and clean the beast up in general. Beside riding, I have to get her ready for some yard work, grading (have an attachment), and some other things. Need to replace my winch rope, it snapped, and see about my front bumper. I'll try to post some of these things as we get into the spring.
  23. It is interesting to see what the DOW is doing. I think there are some influences in the market and some corrections taking place. Overall, 2017 was too good of a year for investors and 401Ks. We'll see what happens this week. My tax deductions must have gone down because got more in my paycheck last week 🤑
  24. I saw those pics, very cool. Congrats on your promotion at work, that's always good! Yeah vacation time is important, I get 3 weeks now and hopefully 4 weeks next year with "time served" with the same company, so we'll see how it goes.
  25. You still around bud?
