  1. I was trying to put in reverse while on jacks, it isn’t running currently so no way to check while driving, I was able to get it thru the gears, it looks like it’s semi automatic.
  2. Ok so when I pulled the carb off the rubber piece on the head fell apart, I have that ordered and on its way, the carb is in the ultrasonic awaiting the carb kit to get here, air filter looks good, oil looks good, will change it after I hear it run, turning the back tires I can shift it thru all the gears, it’s a pain in the butt to get in reverse, got a fresh battery in it, seems like all the electronics are working, lights, electric start, waiting for a new ignition switch with key so I can stop using a paper clip to test things. So far it is a fun little project.
  3. I guess auto correct got it close lol, I pulled the carb off to clean it and rebuild it, wasn’t to bad of a task, I noticed on the the fuel line coming in it looked like syrup, but when I took the bottom off where the bloat is it was somewhat clean and dry, was full of what looked like seasonings you would put on food. Everything was dry and some what clean, all the little brass pieces in the carb I pulled out looked like they were all plugged up, ordered a carb rebuild kit for all balls racing. I have the housings cleaning in denatured alcohol in an ultra sonic cleaner. And the guy I got the quad from found the front tires and dropped them off yesterday, fixed and repaired the plastics with some zipper ties and plastic welder on what I could do.
  4. Don’t seem to hard, after looking it over, besides carb, noticed that the plastics are all tore up, cables are broken, no battery or key, and fuel tank smell like crap, front tires are gone, brake light broke, that’s just a start. Hopefully that is all, any suggestions on cleaning the tank
  5. Sounds good, it is in rough shape but free is free, just something to go back and forth from the club house to the fishing hole or hunting stand. Is there anything major I should pay attention to when pulling carb and peacock off? Haven’t had a chance to look it over yet they just dropped it off when I made post, I will look it over when I get off tomorrow when I have some light to look it over.
  6. Just got an 05 Yamaha bruin 250 and wondering if it would be worth fixing? Any suggestions would be great, any advise would be welcome as well, was told it just needed a carb clean and or replaced, when I pulled the fuel line off it looked like black syrup coming out of the line.
