  1. Yeah, I have an aftermarket on an arctic cat quads. Would have rebuilt the OEM but it was in terrible shape. Couldn't get it apart, all the screws were seized up with stripped heads on them. Drilled them out and the jets and were the same way. The aftermarket carb is working perfectly. The pilot screw was waaaaaaaay off so I adjusted that to spec and then installed it. Smooth idle and lots of power. Very satisfied with it!
  2. Yeah, I bought the aftermarket carb as a back up just to have. I rebuilt the Mikuni OEM carb and it now runs like a champ! Thanks.
  3. Thank you for the advice and for taking the time! I really appreciate it!
  4. Hi guys! I recently acquired a 2004 Sportsman 600 4x4. It originally ran great but now It runs very rough and only with choke on. It dies when you hit the throttle. I will be removing the carb for a good cleaning. At this point I'm thinking it's a fuel issue. I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter today as they are cheap. When I get the carb back we will see how it goes. If it still runs bad I might try bypassing the fuel pump and running direct from tank to carb. Any ideas as to what I should be trying would be greatly appreciated. Also, the carb has two nipples in the front in the front on each side. The left side has a vent hose on it but the right side is capped off. Shouldn't this one be venting as well? See pic. I did pick up a new aftermarket carb to have just in case. There is a hose fitting on the right rear that my OEM carb doesn't have. What would this be for? I would think just keep that on capped? (See pic) Thanksnin advance.
  5. Pretty hard to beat this winch for the money. Has a wireless remote the size of a key fob. Can mount it anywhere for plowing and can also take it off to use off the quad. I have two and they work perfectly. It's a very good product at Harbor Freight!
  6. Yeah, if it has one I would think it would have to be in the cylinder head somewhere! Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah, I try to but sometimes I jump the gun and buy stuff I don't end up needing. I'm getting better. Boy that water pump was a job in the Magnum but I now have zero oil leaking! Worth it! Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
  8. Thank you! Turns out the thermostat is opening and the water is circulating to the radiator. The fan would not come one at all. I made a jump wire for the connector on the thermal switch and the fan powers on and runs fine. The engine cools appropriately with the fan running. Ordered a new thermal switch and will leave the jump wire in place until then. Thanks Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk

  10. Will do. Thank you for your time and assistance with this. I really appreciate it! Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks for your reply! Any idea where this "rogue screw" is located on the engine? I wouldn't begin to know where to look. Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
  12. Just finished replacing water pump seals and impeller on my 97 Magnum 425 due to oil leak out of the weep hole. Haven't owned it very long and have only riden around the yard a couple times because I only recently got it. I installed a new bullet aluminum impeller and made sure the nut was tight and that thebimpeller was not spinning on the shaft. My oil leak is now fixed. I filled the radiator and let it run. The motor seemed to be getting hot and the radiator fan never came on. Looking into the radiator its hard to tell if the coolant is circulating due to the vibration of the quad. Never looked down the radiator prior to pump rebuild so not sure how it compares now. Think it could be a bad thermostat or air in the system? Is there a refill procedure? Any advise is appreciated! 13. Sorry, not sure how to get to the dow load link for the manual. [emoji52] Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks! Kinda dreading the job (getting housing cover bolts off and back on because it's so tight with the frame so close and partially blocking. May have to fabricate an extended wrench with a bend in it to get that front bottom bolt. We will see! Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
