I did a lot of prying with screw driver and finally got the chain apart. Someone tried to tack the backs of the studs. The only thing with Weld on it is the studs LOL!

I got the clip off the chain now I'm trying to get the chain apart?

The back side of studs are almost flush nothing to really get ahold of. I'm going to try to take a couple photos off my monitor and post them.

I don't have a printer at this time. The whole service manual is 119 mb. and I think the max file size on the forum is a little over 102mb.

I may have to try that tomorrow.I found a post on a different forum. They said they had a heck of a time getting the old hub of. Said they had to apply heat and do a lot of banging. They said the new one wouldn't go far enough to hit the splines. Someone told them Appling the heat might have caused the axle shaft spline to swell. I'll get out there in the morning and see what I can do. Thanks Again! ๐

I think, they are the splined type like on car or truck wheels that you have to hammer in. The nuts are on the other side and you can grab the nuts and rotate the whole stud/nut inside the sprocket hub. I don't know how I could get the nuts off when the whole thing turns. If the three holes are messed up I assume, the hub assembly will have to be replaced. A new hub price isn't bad it's just whether or not I can get the old one off. Thanks Mech! ๐

Was going to adjust the chain. Needless to say I gave up on that idea real quick. That whole axel may have to come out. I'm still looking for a you tube on replacing that sprocket hub online with no luck so far. I'm sure that was like that when I bought it. I'm hoping I will be able to replace that myself. ๐

The studs in the sprocket hub are stripped out. The hub is probably walloed out also. Probably will have to have a new sprocket hub. I doubt I have the ability nor the tools needed for this job. Thanks for all suggestions/opinions! 20240225_155255.mp4 20240225_155255.mp4 20240225_155255.mp4 20240225_155255.mp4

I hope the timing hole on the aftermarket stator cover is in the correct spot on the housing. ๐ค -

I think I found it. I'm going to have to fill that in with some white fingernail polish. I'll never see it through that little hole if I don't lol! It's on top to the right of the starter. -

2005 Scrambler 500 4x4 valve cover bolts socket size?

It required 8mm socket. Naturally my cheap 1/4" ratchet broke lol! Thanks! ๐ -
I'm having trouble identifying Mark. I know where the mark is in the Stator cover. Is the T at about, the 12 o'clock position in this photo? I've got to buy another Stator cover as the one I have has a hole at the bottom of it. Due to failing eyes, I have a lot of trouble anymore. Thanks! ๐

Can someone please tell me what size socket I need to remove the valve cover? Thanks! ๐

Yeah, I sure hope that's what the problem is. It's a whole lot easier to get to than the carburetor. I've got my fingers crossed LOL! ๐
