Since I put in a new carbuerator on my bike the plug turns black. Should I use DR7EA plug instead of the DR8EA?

I have a 1998 yamaha big bear 350 and since I put a new carbeutor on I cannot keep the spark plug clean. Would it be ok to use a DR7EA plug instead of DR8EA would it make a difference? Thanks in advance.

No the oil is clear and and very little smoke only when starts it first. Runs good for about an hour or so then idles bad, hard to keep going.
