never heard any thing like that about a filter in line ... an have put them on about 80+ different quads in my shop

hey hawk... there are alot of paints out there just for painting plastic that will flex pretty good b4 they will peel off .. if you are looking for a cheap way to change the color of your plastic that might be an option 4 ya ...???

well its morning on the earth some ware ... so good morning alll...lol

i would start with the carb an make shure its all clean then if thast not it check the plug for good fire an make shure its clean.. then check for constant power from the stator ... then if thats not it check the coil... then if thats not it i would check the wireing from the stator all the way through the ignition to the coil ... ..

it could be ... it might be shorting out and or breaking down when it warms up...

a little play is normal ... but if you have alot you might have a bearing in it thats got some ware thats causing it ... i would make shure it is lubricated well in the rear and ride it for a while then check to see if its getting worse ... if it is then i would look for the bad bearing

i would do like quadnut20 said an put a filter in the fuel line if ya dont have 1 alerady .. and then check to make shure the bowl is clean in the carb ... then if thats not the prob. then go from there and check to make shure its getting good fire at the plug after warm up an when it starts running funny ... you should just go through a few things like that to make shure ware the prob. is ...

sounds like a plan... happy mudding...lol. O an while you are at it go ahead an get the mini winch 2 put on your 400ex ...lol... its lite weight an u might want ot 2 go with the taller tire ... cause your gonna get stuck in worse places ...lol..

like he said ...lol... they will fit but will be a little more rounded on the tread area .. might make them a little taller but not much.. i see them like that alot around here cause most of the riding areas here are swamp/river bottom flood plane areas..a little more ground clearance wont hurt ya any ..lol

slack as in ware an what ? ... can ya tell if it is the rear differential? or is there slack in the u,joints in the drive shaft? or could it be as simple as the axle or wheel bearings ? need more info so i can try to help ya out more ... thanks ...CK. what year... ????
