That group has been getting a lot of press lately. Fom what I understand they are getting out of control and doing a lot of damage. They seem to be pretty powerful. I do a lot of jumping and stunt riding so I always wear all my gear. MX gear is not just made for 2 wheels, it is made for the conditions you will be riding in. Those guys are either just busting your balls or complete idiots. I always get pissed at guys on bikes that jack around the quad guys. Quads are harder to ride and take more effort and talent than bikes. If you like the look and feel of the gear go with it. You can mix and match anyway you like also. Wear a jersey and jeans, a t-shirt and riding pants. The only thing I suggest you wear at all times is a helmet and boots. Sh** happens quick and even if you don't fall off, the guy in front could chuck a rock back at you, tree branches on the ground and in the air, lots of possibles. Ride safe and ride lots.

Getting rid of the rust wouldn't be a problem, but if it is rusted it may be pitted also. If that is the case everything will have to be honed to get a good sealing surface. I don't know much about that motor so I don't know if it would be worth the effort or not.
