  2. So, after going over everything, I found that the reverse shifter has a “lock” button under it. So I depressed it, pushed the lever just a little further “out” of reverse until I heard a click. Then the shift lever freed up, went down to neutral, light came on. All appears to be good! Live and learn. Hope the manual comes soon.

  3. My guess would be that the shift cable or linkage is faulty or unattached.

  4. Depends on what you're looking to accomplish. If you're expecting actual repairs from a can, then I would vote snake oil.
