  2. Most machinery, whatever it is, always wears the same parts out, which is why it doesn't always work out so good keeping old machines for spares... I think I'd choose the best rolling chassis with reasonable suspension brakes etc, and swap motors, bodywork etc onto that one. Just a guess without knowing if things are worn or crashed or blown up, but based on having seen(and done) a bit of this work.
  3. Hi and welcome along. That does sound like a fun project.
  4. Today
  5. Welcome to the forum, always nice to hear about interesting projects! Good luck and we are here to help if needed.

  7. Hi! I’m new to the forum. I have several Polaris Trailboss 500’s, which I’m trying to make 2 usable bikes from. One is all but complete, needing only reassembly, while the other two are a decision as to which is parts and which is bike. lol. Anyhow…

  9. They are a must have if you have acreage, at least for me anyway, im getting older and dont like to walk so much anymore, would rathar ride.
  10. Thanks for the info , i generally use Kenda Bear Paw, but the SunF are getting very popular, with a great aggressive tread design.
  11. Why THANK YOU Little Guy ... glad you enjoyed the video ... and Thank You for watch'in too!! Yes, the machine is a Great One!! ... And I have a blast on it!! ...
  12. I've got the same Quad, 96 model, I've used Sun F tires only, best I've had on a 4x4!
  13. There are several good models to choose from, I PREFER HONDAS OR YAMAHAS. DON'T GET TOO FANCY WITH ALL THE OPTIONS THAT YOU CAN GET ON AN ATV. BUY A PLAIN JANE. BUY A USED MODEL, BUY An EARLY 2000 OR A LATE 1990S MODEL. THEY ARE EASY TO REPAIR AND KEEP RUNNING. KEEP IT SIMPLE!
  14. Looks like a good machine, nice one
  15. That's wild, glad you are still alive!
  16. I've done it in my little s10, managable!
  17. I've never had a problem so long as I cleaned up the rim where the bead sits
  18. Just looking up some pictures of that unit, looks cool!
  19. I never grew up around them, but once I bought rural land the need arose, so glad I found out about them!
  20. I've been eyeballing some swamp lites by interco
  21. For me its just at my place, to get jobs done
  22. I did'nt know an exhaust leak could cause backfires, thanks for the tip!
  23. Nice job. Man those tires look mean!
  24. WOW not what I'd want to find!
  25. Hmm very useful info, iirc this is the same for the bayou 400
  26. Earlier
  27. Good work. I like that you cleaned and inspected the drive system and didn't just condemn it out of hand, and then you got it working. Even if it does need a bit of work after a while it lets you test everything else. It's important we use our discretion when choosing what needs replacing. That's good work..

My 2001 Polaris 325 Trail Boss keeps blowing up batteries and headlights. Tested voltage at the socket and it varies all the way from 8 volts to almost 40 volt spikes. Any help or advice would be appreciated greatly.

so i took the stator cover off last night to look at the stator it self looks clean, the wires on the out side look ruff, some look very old, but i bet heat got to them. but i will ohm out the wires tonight and test for continuity to make sure they are not broken. i get it that the stator provides charging. but the pick up send out the spark.  here is a picture of it
