I rode a 1986 Honda 4 trax 250R back when they were new. Yes, I'm old. I have been away from riding for 15 years or so. Back in the day the 250R was king. I rode and owned several 4 wheelers back then. The Honda was my favorite due to the way the long, low, wide frame handled. I also liked the power and light weight of the 2 stroke engine.

I am ready for another bike. I am a woods rider who has raced events such as Blackwater 100. Since I have been away from the sport for so long I am wondering what is the hot bike for woods racing these days.....and why? If nothing better has come along, I am happy to buy another 250R. Thanks for your help.

A 450 is in your future. They are alot easier to ride than a R.

I have a 250R and I love it but I borrow a 450 to race.

It took me 54 years to get old enough for a 4 stroke.<EG>

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

I’ve got a 2000 400ex with a dg slip on muffler, it came with he stock muffler on it but the previous owner had the dg in a box so I put it on. I’ve been riding it for the past month and a half and every time I let off it backfires, and the other day the backfires got way louder, 2x louder! I’m concerned that I may hurt my motor? Why does is backfire??? Thanks
