hello everyone,

I'm looking to purchase my first MIG welder with spool gun capable at an affordable price. Does anyone have any experience with Longevity? They seem to have a reliable/portable MIG welder. I want some feedback before I make my decision.

Thanks in advance.

I have had the Miller DVI2 for about 7 years no issues at all. I"ve welded carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum all with no problems, I like the fact that I can use 110 or 220 just by changing the plug which is a simple twist lock. I use straight argon for everything. Cost a little more however I am not using it everyday either a bottle lasts me about 6 months or five 2lb spools, it also will take the larger spools too which I bought this last time. This goes for any MIG set ups but I always blow my liners out after every spool I haven't had to replace them yet. Just simple maintenance keep the equipment running top shape!

hello, i did look into Miller and Lincoln as well. as you mentioned the prices are more expensive. Longevity actually has a welder that is similar to one of Miller's 110/220v portable spoolgun capable but I could buy 2 Longevity's for the price of 1 miller. Longevity has a forum that i was looking into and alot of positive things on their MIG welders. I gave them a call and they gave me a great price for the welder and spool gun as well. And as far as I know they have the best warranty on the net which was a plus! I couldn't pass it up. I went ahead and purchased one and should be receiving it right away. I have 30 days for money back guarantee so hopefully everything works out, I think i made a good choice. Thanks for the info!

Those look nice and for sure way cheaper than Miller or Lincoln. I got a great deal on my setup also, as the school I went to let me order through them, saved me over $600. Let us know how it holds up! Be a great alternative!

Did you look for a used or new machine? An older Miller is still a great machine. I have 3 Miller 350p machines that are still running strong after 20+ pallets (yes pallets) of 035 wire has been run through them. I run 90/10 gas with excellent weld penetration.

So I decided to pick up a small trailer if I could get one for the right price.  I found this one for a few hundred bucks on Craig’s list.  It is  a galvanized trailer which is exactly what I was looking for. The wood was shot and needed some minor repairs which I could care less about as long as the chassis was good.
I striped it down and put a new deck on. I had some vinyl realtree graphics that I had laying around so I added them to the fenders which I think worked out well. Very happy with this little guy.
I'm having the iron workers at my jobmake me up a few lightweight side rails that will have a 22 degree bend in them to accommodate the tires that slightly hang over the edge and will incorporate some tie down points as well.

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

Hi. I just joined the community. I have a sheep farm and use a Polaris 500HO, Polaris 700efi and a JD Gator 825i for different jobs around the farm. I do all the repairs myself so I am sometimes needing some advice and maybe I can be of some help to others as well.
