Do you have the push-button-Honda-like-shifter mechanism?

I know there has been some electrical issues with some of these machines. Mostly related to the semi-automatic shifter-system, and to the little electrical motor that engages and disengages the 4x4.

This little motor often burns up internally, and therefor need replacement.

You can loosen the engage/disengage-motor by loosening the 4 screws in the pic below, and open it up, having a look-see.

There will come some diff-fluid when you take the motor out, so be sure to add some when putting it all together again.

If you have a test light there are a few simple tests to determine if it's your actuator or your switch that is giving you the shift problem, first make sure you have a your test light connected to a good ground, turn your ignition to the on position,(do not start it) now turn your 4x4 switch to the on position or the engage position. Now with the test light touch the connectors at the actuator to see if there is any power at the actuator.

Hi I know this isn't about the four wheel drive, but I would like to put the foot shifter on my 08 odes 400 ATV. And I went to put it on last night and the rod that is coming out of the engine just sits there and spins to one side then stops and can go all the way back to the other. How do I hook this up? Please help.

1st problem, Does anyone know where I can find a stock carb for my Timberwolf, I have tried two different aftermarket carbs and they both suck. The machine runs great until it gets good and warm, then it keeps stalling unless I feather the throttle. it will even stall while I'm trying to go from 1st to reverse or vise versa. I took it to a buddy of mine who is a bike mechanic for years, and he told me try to find a factory carb. When I look online from dealers it says "NOT AVAILABLE" anyone have any suggestions ?

2nd, The small tab on the rear axle for towing is to short for even pulling my small yard trailer, I can't even turn a little bit and hit hits. I tried making an extension which worked great as far as length, but it bends the tab and then the extension drags the ground. I have an idea of what to do to fix it, but wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and see how you solved it.

I'm trying to help a buddy out with his bike (he's not really on the internet or familiar with these forums) and I'll admit that I am not super familiar with the transmission and clutches in these bikes. I owned a Brute a few years ago, but never had an issue like this that I had to troubleshoot.
So basically my buddy bought a group lot of 650's to build one good bike out of. He got it all put together and has it running but when he pushes on the throttle the clutch doesn't engage till the RPM's are quite high and even when its moving it doesn't really speed up, almost seems like its in "limp mode". He's tried 2 different transmissions so I don't think that's the problem.
Is there any adjustment on the clutch engagement? Anything else I can tell him to look at? Let me know if you need anymore information if you think you can help.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a really Heavy Duty ATV cover. I have bought several and they do keep the water off somewhat, but they are very thin and do not contour with the shape very well and water pools up in the rack louvers. I think i may be looking for a heavy canvas one, if anyone has a recommendation it would be greatly appreciated.
