i ran the test on the stator and it check out good.i added a few grounds and it actually bump up my volts from 13.50 to 14.53.and when u turn the lights on it charges now. but after 15 to 20 mins. the regulator gets hot it quits charging and iam assuming thats what it is doing.and wont charge anymore.but if u shut off the fourwheeler and start it back up it will charge again until it gets hot.do u think its the regulator or not. i could use some help here. thx.

the regulators do get very hot during operation, very hot to the touch ... you could cook an egg on it, but not light a cigarette ... i would hate to see you spend money on something you might not need. do you have a buddy with the same bike you could swap the part out to check? i know electrical components are non returnable/refundable after the package is opened ...

im pretty sure it runs all the time, leveling out the current ...

it almost sounds like the stator is failing because thats what makes the power, but then you wouldnt have spark to keep it running ... im not sure what other modules are in between ... so maybe it is the regulator, does the current drop and/or spike with it running? i think it should be 14.5-14.7 ???

      I Crashed My Quad
Well the Way I Ride, some of you knew it was Inevitable.
      Below are Three Videos.
First one is Slow Motion of How it Happens.
Second one is Normal Speed, and what happens after the Accident.
Third one Follows more of what happens after .

I Was Riding By Myself. I was going through a Mud HOLE Either there was a log or a rock, or A Dip but just as I was almost through it, Machine, Rolled over on my right side, as soon as I contacted the ground, I Heard A SNAP! I got up, flipped the Quad back over. I had the wind knocked out of me.

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

First post here need some help/advice. I bought a 2001 king quad 300, vin number JSAAK43A212111871. I have been trying to do some basic maintenance as it runs but doesn't idle all that well . I want to take out and clean/repair the  carb but when looking for parts it ask for model X Y K1 K2. How do I know which model I have? I have tried some vin decoders but they haven't told me. If anyone could recommend a carb rebuild kit for my quad Id appreciate it. Also any tips on tracking down an owners manual?
