1987 Big Bear 350 No start.

So the key ignition on my quad locked up. I ordered a new one. Received one from a newer model so I just wired the old plug to the new cylinder. Now it will not start. Is there a difference in the way the new cylinder works. Kind of lost here.

Maybe I should stop being lazy and cheap and just buy the correct ignition. But I only paid $100 for the quad

that was the last we heard ... so i figured you were splurging on a new ignition.

now, 2 months later, on your 100 dollar quad ... did you get a new ignition for it ?

have you checked the fuses, relays, tried any other electrical troubleshooting?

maybe try bypassing the ignition switch and see if you are getting power
