I got an ac racing bumper still in the box for $50, and i also mod the front struts see my thread. If you add any weight or if you are around 200+ then may want to look into an epi spring set for the struts to stop brake dive and sagging

I have never seen to much aftermarket parts on ebay other than cvt belts, exhuast etc. racks & bumpers not too much I did come across a heavy duty bumper with a winch mount built into the bumper may have been made by warn. Rack bags are handy and don't add much weight and a winch comes in handy.

If you want more power: 12 hole mod the airbox lid, get a muzzy exhaust, dynatek cdi, upp crossovers, and get clutch work from www.vforcejohn.com suspension: everybody makes a rear shock, but elka had the best front spring package, which are now discontinued. Jetting: only use Keihin jets. I designed steering stabilizer clamps sold by atvtrickstuff.com to be used with kfx 450 stick dampeners. Front suspension and steering is the most inhibiting performance factor as it will fatigue the rider long before you run out of atv potential.

I like my prairie but the Elka's alone cost more than what I gave for my quad. My quad is the 02 Prairie 650 it's a fun quad but a workout as well with the steering. I'm sure the Elka's would help improve the handling but they cost more or as much for what most people pay for the older Prairies & Twin peaks. I'm talking about the Elka struts & rear shock not just replacement springs. I would have to have money to waste too put that much into my Prairie. I've seen some Prairies still selling for 3000bucks so between that cost and what it would cost to do the performance upgrades listed above I think I would just buy a newer quad such as a BF750 and be done. That way your not faced with the short commings of the front strut suspension. Then apply some of the listed upgrades to the bf750 Dynatek cdi, pipe & performance filter.

Elka never did make a front strut, just springs. You can get EPI springs which are slightly stiffer and get my nitro charging with thicker fluid for very cheap. Also the steering stabilizer is worth its weight in gold, and a very inexpensive mod.

The nich for the Prairie 700 and BF SRA 650 is sport quad fun and handling with a 4x4 utility front end with winch capability. You can turn them on a dime in the mud trails. IRS will try to compress the suspension and lean over, almost tipping the atv. But if using the atv as a jet ski, then IRS gives you the ground clearance.

What I seen must have been struts with the Elka upgrade but they were being listed as Elka struts & also a KVF 700 for sale and it was listed with having Elka struts & Elka rear shock. Even if an Elka strut upgrade is done it still don't make them Elka struts. Thanks for the info about that. I seen them seen the price and never looked at them again. I just took them for what the seller was saying they were. I guess thats away for someone to get mega bucks from the unknowing buyers. I still like the BF750 better. I got a good deal on my Prairie I paid 1,600 for it and I have put a lot of miles on it. I had to replace the frame and gave 300 for an 03 Prairie 650 used the front diff and frame kept a few extra parts around and sold the left overs for 250. And the guy I bought the 03 from said he had a Dynatek F.S cdi he couldn't find the cdi when I bought the quad but said when he finds it he will give me a call so I got the call got the box but then found out it want fit my 02 so I have it listed on craigs list now.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I am new to this site. Now down to business, I have been given a Kawasaki 220, tires are trashed and it has been setting for a long time. Do I need a battery in it to find neutral? I know there is a neutral switch and if I shift down(7 times????)   then up one using the neutral switch I should be in Neutral. As you see I am in a learning curve here ......coments welcome.

First post here need some help/advice. I bought a 2001 king quad 300, vin number JSAAK43A212111871. I have been trying to do some basic maintenance as it runs but doesn't idle all that well . I want to take out and clean/repair the  carb but when looking for parts it ask for model X Y K1 K2. How do I know which model I have? I have tried some vin decoders but they haven't told me. If anyone could recommend a carb rebuild kit for my quad Id appreciate it. Also any tips on tracking down an owners manual?
