I swear I need a new riding buddy. He wants to ride but doesn't want to really ride.

"It's muddy out there, I don't want to get muddy" a few mud puddles here and there and he acts like it's gonna kill him.

"I don't wanna get wet" Well your gonna get wet if we ride at the river or in the creek

About a month back I rode through deep enough water that I filled my air box. Some people came along and helped me get it running again and showed us how to get to the other side of the river. My friend refused and went back to his truck then went home. I kept riding. Last week we was riding the same place I got through the way the other guys showed us but he didn't pay attention.

He submarined his cause he didn't pay attention. And he was done. He didn't want to ride anymore. Had to go back to the truck and go home. All he wants to really do is go up and down hills slowly. Maybe once in a while he'll open it up but most times I bet he doesn't go more then 5 or 10 miles an hour.

Beginning to think I need to find more riders locally cause he just can't handle what the ATV is made to do.

I wouldn`t even call him a riding buddy

Well he's only one of my friend around here right now with an atv so he is the only person for me to ride with. Don't want to go alone cause of the classic reason. What if something happens.

I got a friend that is trying to get an atv but his money is real tight right now. Doesn't help that his ol lady just had a kid a few months ago.

Look for an ATV club to join. That is the easiest way to find other riders with your skill level.

Your skill level is just way beyond his. I think it is simple as that. If he wanted to ride then he would be watching and learing so he can improve his skill level.

I always like to ride with riders better than me so that the my skills get pushed and I become better. Sometimes learning that way hurts but that is how the sport is set up.

Or....it could be as Austinhuntman said...maybe he's just a pu***....lol

How long has your friend rode, as well as owned a quad? Maybe he's afraid of breaking something.

Or it could be he's just not able to keep up with you. Good luck either way. That definitely wouldn't be fun to head out somewhere with someone only to have them pout and go home.

I ride by myself. That way I can do what I want, how I want and don't have to worry about other people. I do my best to prevent "things" from happening, but I try to make sure I am prepared for as much as I can be and handle that myself too.

Well he's been riding about as long as I have on a quad. We used to ride dirt bikes about 20 years ago. We've had our Warriors about a year now. I did have a 85 Suzuki lt185 for a little bit before I got my Warrior. I had flipped it a few times but kept riding. Haven't flipped the Warrior yet.

But yes I believe pu*** is the right word for him.

He`s still your buddy of 20 years ! We have a huge group of riders and most of us are good riders ! If we get someone that wants to ride with us that is a new rider some of us will hold back to help them out if needed and make the ride enjoyable for them! So they will come out again and ride with us ! I can`t count how many times I`ve picked myself off the ground only to get back on and ride ! Hell I broke my wrist this summer and can`t wait to ride again !!JMO

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

I’m brand new to 4 wheelers and just bought a 1987 Yamaha Moto 4 350. It has good compression and fuel, but no spark. I’ve looked high and low trying to find how to test all the components of the ignition system, but can’t find anything. This has a new CDI box on it, but I suspect it might be the stator. How do I test the stator on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i just picked this up. was told ran fine but overheating issues led to replacing head gasket and head. has not ran since. he is not a mechanic but helped someone else who he could not get back to finish job, got aggravated and put up for sale. i was thinking timing issues. i have 110-120psi on all 3 cylinders so i think valves are correct. dont know about distributor yet. however i have no spark. i have no power going to ignition coil. tried to follow white wire but gets lost in wire harness. does anyone have a wiring diagram? can anyone tell me what conditions have to be met before starting. motor turns over so i would think all safeties are met but you never know.
