1993 Yamaha Big Bear Transfer Case oil?

stupid question but, the transfer case gets its oil from the engine?...and if thats the case then do i need to add oil to the transfer case also to sorta "prime" it? i have a clymer manual and its not real specific on this, it just list the transnfer case fluid under engine oil.

so to answer my own question and for future reference.... i called our local shop and they verified that it does in fact use the engine oil for lubrication and is recommended 10w 30.

Just make sure you use ATV 10w-30 with the correct additives. I use Valovoline ATV oil that you can get at an auto parts store.

yes, engine oil it uses ... 2.4 litres, 2.4 imperial quarts, 2.9 U.S. quarts. as ajmboy says, use atv oil, not regular motor oil. it'll damage your transmission. yamalube or valvoline are good atv oils to use ...
