I just wanted to toss this out there and see what flies back.....

I recently got a Kazuma 150 Falcon ATV for free and seems in pretty decent shape.

Problem is it won't start (why it was free).

The guy couldn't find the key for it so I bought a new key switch and installed it.

The battery is good.

The horn works

lights don't work

no cranking with the start button

Will crank by jumping the solenoid.

cranking it and shooting ether into the carb and it fires up and runs very smooth.

Problem #1

I seem to be getting no fuel as with the line off and the petcock open there is no flow. I am going to pull the tank and clean it and the petcock and make sure nothing is plugged.

That's not much of an issue.

Problem #2

There seems to be a problem with the kill switch, key switch, starter solenoid or something. Since it will start by jumping the solenoid I believe the starter is good but that's the only way.

I am not familiar with these type Quads at all and am not good at tracing electrical problems either.......

Any ideas where to start?

i had a problem like that with a raptor 350. there is a spring behind the starter button and if it get rusty or breaks off it will not start. check that and see if thats the problem.

Welcome to QUADCRAZY. Sounds to me like there is an issue with the on/off switch if there is one. I am not familiar with that quad either, just seems power is not flowing to your lights and ignition.

* Changed title to reflect ATV and issue.

Thanks, I downloaded the manual which is nice since i didn't get one with it.

I ordered a new handle bar switch last night (starter, kill switch, horn ect...) the one in it was corroded badly and when i took it apart I lost a spring somewhere so i just ordered a new switch. We'll see if that works.

I took the tank off and checked the petcock and the small screens inside the tank on the petcock were clogged up fully with varnish. I cleaned them and the tank and reassembled.

I have to pull the carb and clean it and I have a new rebuild kit for it.

hopefully it will get it running soon for the kids.

OK.

I installed a new handlebar switch for the start, kill, lights...ect...

I installed a new starter solenoid

A new key switch

and a battery.

Rebuilt the carb.

Now it starts if you jump the solenoid and runs great and is a lot of fun to ride.

I have no headlights (not concerned with right now, the lights may be burnt out even.

The main thing is it will still not start with the start button. I have to jump the solenoid.

I was hoping the new switch would fix that problem. :aargh:

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help and manuals.

I actually found another post where I learned the start circuit goes through the brake light and the brake light switch is kinda funny, it is touchy when you hit the peddle. It works then it don't so you have to kinda pump the brake pedal and it starts right up.

Now all I need is a new rear plastic piece ($99) and maybe tires and it will be like new.

This must be a Kazuma "feature" - I noticed that my brand new Cougar 250 failed to start on me at one point which freaked me out a little considering (a) its new and (b) I was more than a comfy walking distance from camp out on the Red River. After fiddling with the key a bit and stamping on the brake pedal a bit it started right up. I didn't think much of it until reading your post - now I want to check out the brake pedal switch carefully.

So we are almost a month into winter and I've been so busy working on my house that up until today, I didn't realize that we just haven;t gotten any real snow yet to warrant putting the plow on my grizzly. So that got me thinking, what are the latest plows out there and what ATV plows are the best? I've got 2 snow plows for my grizzly, a quadboss pile driver atv plow set up and a snowsport ATV plow. They are both a bit dated now and I tend to stick with the snowsport due to ease of use and I just like it so much. So if you have a plow on your ATV, please let us know what it is and post a picture with your atv/plow would be awesome. Would also like to know what you like and dislike about it.
This is back a while when I did a write up on these 2 plows.... in 2009 I got the snowsport and in 2012 I got the quadboss.

I have a Sportsman 450 HO and almost killed my self when loading it on my truck with ramps.  It rolled off the top of the ramps and tailgate and nearly landed on me.  I now want to winch the ATV in to the truck.  My question is are the front side bed tiedowns in my 2011 RAM strong enough to winch to without distorting the hooks or sides of the bed?

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!
