Hi Sam, sounds like your having fun with it. I found a 91 Kawasaki Bayou 300 4x4 for $200. early this year. It had bad elec. & mech. probs. at least the tires were almost new. I was lucky one off the moderators had a manual for it that I was able to down load and some times the dealers will have manuals you can down load or at least view. I still have to finish but it does run great. On that drum I some times squirt the spline or key way with liquid wrench, and let it soak overnight or at least a couple hrs. if it's bad and use a puller if possible.

Merry Christmas, Garry

Thanks buddy, yeah I saw a rook of people on another forum asking for it and they all left their emails so I've hijacked their email addresses! (This site isn't very good for iPhone or iPad!-or those devices are just pants.) my dads got a puller were going to try later I've looked for soooo long online for manuals and diags. What is left to do on yours then? It runs, you've got good tyres, u missing a seat or plastics?

Hi Sam, My seats and plastic are good. I found a really good front differential on Ebay I have toput that in and do rear bearings and seals in the rear end. It had water in it. Shouldn't be much after that. Just need a little time. Hope it all works for you. Garry

Hey, I'm new to the site. Looking for places to ride I SC near Charleston area. I know of Carolina Adventure World and heard of Soggy Bottom just not sure where it is. We went to a new place just opened up in Warthen, GA last weekend called Broken Arrow ATV Park. Had a great time there but that's a 4 hour haul for us.

Hi All! New to this forum and site. I've got to say it looks pretty cool and there seems to be a ton of info. A bunch of us on our fire dept. bought atvs back around 2005 when I bought mine, though I don't use mine as much now because of some health issues, I still love to get out once in a while. Most of the guys still do trail riding and a lot of hunting with theirs though.

I can easily remember my three wheelers, red they were. One for each of my boys and one for me, right after w#1 left. They were fun and did go on a hunt or three, but weren't all that easy to deal with. After having retired, I'm going backup on the mountains for to find the wily WAPITI. The legs just wont do what they used to be able to do so I'm looking for some help. Enter the age of a four wheeler. I'm finding many pitfalls and some revelations too. Shopping for one seems to be a horror though. 'm guessing there is a wealth of knowledge hereabouts and will begin my studies here. Thanks for having me.

Hello and welcome to the QC site !!

There is alot of knowledge here and good opinions on bikes/4x4s ...

Hunting and putting around i would say a 350 is a good size, honda or yamaha in that department ...

Throw out some ideas and i am sure you will have some solid answers, again, welcome !!

AND Happy Thanksgiving !!

I all, I'm a new member from near Montreal, Qc! Bought myself my first quad, a 1995 Yamaha Big Bear 350 that needed some love, already got some help here about maintenance.

Sadly my transmission failed so I'm currently replacing my drum shift, I might need some extra advice for stuff not covered in my Clymer manual, I think this is the place to be... Happy to join!

I’m brand new to 4 wheelers and just bought a 1987 Yamaha Moto 4 350. It has good compression and fuel, but no spark. I’ve looked high and low trying to find how to test all the components of the ignition system, but can’t find anything. This has a new CDI box on it, but I suspect it might be the stator. How do I test the stator on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i just picked this up. was told ran fine but overheating issues led to replacing head gasket and head. has not ran since. he is not a mechanic but helped someone else who he could not get back to finish job, got aggravated and put up for sale. i was thinking timing issues. i have 110-120psi on all 3 cylinders so i think valves are correct. dont know about distributor yet. however i have no spark. i have no power going to ignition coil. tried to follow white wire but gets lost in wire harness. does anyone have a wiring diagram? can anyone tell me what conditions have to be met before starting. motor turns over so i would think all safeties are met but you never know.

Hello all! I’m new to the 4 wheeler world, but not new to the mechanic world. I was a diesel mechanic for many years and last year got into jet skis. I just bought a 1987 Yamaha moto 4 350 and now learning the ins and outs of 2 stroke engines. Looking forward to learning all the things.

First post here need some help/advice. I bought a 2001 king quad 300, vin number JSAAK43A212111871. I have been trying to do some basic maintenance as it runs but doesn't idle all that well . I want to take out and clean/repair the  carb but when looking for parts it ask for model X Y K1 K2. How do I know which model I have? I have tried some vin decoders but they haven't told me. If anyone could recommend a carb rebuild kit for my quad Id appreciate it. Also any tips on tracking down an owners manual?
