My fleet at present is as follows:

2000 Kodiak 400 - runs, good condition

2005 Predator 90 - runs, great condition

1985 LT230GE - project

1987 Trail Boss 250 - project

1998 Sportsman 6x6 - project

1999 ranger 6x6 - project

Quite a heard, I have 2 suzuki eigers, 2004 and 2007, 400s, both run good but one is a project I hadn't got to yet. I also have a 2000 big bear, neglected, that im having trouble getting spark, im working on getting it going now. I would have more but my wife said I don't know what a grown man needs with 3 4 wheelers.

Yeah - it will be fun! Every tube and wire on it seems to be disconnected. But, it is a project for my son and myself so no matter what happens, it is worth it. Once I get the manual, we'll see if we can figure it all out.

Hello name is not important but the game is,grew up in a shop, grandfather had,been working and messing around with stuff for some 50 years now. Worked as a Diesel mechanic for a while,then went to bmw, Volvo, Toyota,ect cars and trucks. After retired, as wife said I have to,I now work on small engines ect especially quads and bikes of all shapes and sizes,just am posting this to let it out that if  I can help I'm here probably have done it or have seen it done before.

Most of the above. They took the plastics off and looks like they disconnected every electronic cable in the front. They also took off the throttle cable and unit, took out the airbox and disconnected every vacuum tube in that area. Closest I can tell is they were going to remove the carb but never got to it (though I will probably need to since there is still fuel in the tank and probably in the carb that has been there for who knows how many years).

Thankfully, the engine is still all together. I can turn it over using the hand pull after opening the vacuum release, so it turns and seems to have good vacuum (though I don't have a vacuum tester yet to see what it really is). The front brakes don't do anything but the back work well. I am needing to download the manual (once I reach 10 posts) to begin to really look at it. Hoping to get a battery attached to it soon so I can begin to see if there is any power to anything and begin figuring out the wiring to re-connect it.

You will need a good multimeter also for any wirings,but Manuel s are good but hands on experience is all ways the best just have to not be afraid to dive in a project,and if you come into a problem then come here and there are some good people with allot of background to help you out. Wish you 🤞🍀

Hello,

Just came across this forum, always nice to find one that is still active. I'm a farmer with more projects than time to do them, always seem to have some form of three wheeler or quad in the shop. I have a (probably bad) habit of buying old ATVs and ATCs that need work for cheap so I'm always looking for some kind of information or advice on how to keep these old beauties running.

I managed to get all the plastic off the frame but left the engine, harness and electrical components intact. The frame had been undercoated so the main frame was in relatively good shape, just some superficial rust. The side frames and areas that couldn’t be flushed was rotting with rust. The rear motor mounts will also need to be reinforced. I was told the engine runs good but needs a new fuel pump so I purchased an aftermarket pump. I’m now waiting to get the frame with motor back from my welder. I would like to replace as much hardware as I can with stainless and hope I can figure out what order all the plastic pieces go back in.

      I’m brand new to 4 wheelers and just bought a 1987 Yamaha Moto 4 350. It has good compression and fuel, but no spark. I’ve looked high and low trying to find how to test all the components of the ignition system, but can’t find anything. This has a new CDI box on it, but I suspect it might be the stator. How do I test the stator on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

      i just picked this up. was told ran fine but overheating issues led to replacing head gasket and head. has not ran since. he is not a mechanic but helped someone else who he could not get back to finish job, got aggravated and put up for sale. i was thinking timing issues. i have 110-120psi on all 3 cylinders so i think valves are correct. dont know about distributor yet. however i have no spark. i have no power going to ignition coil. tried to follow white wire but gets lost in wire harness. does anyone have a wiring diagram? can anyone tell me what conditions have to be met before starting. motor turns over so i would think all safeties are met but you never know.

      Hello all! I’m new to the 4 wheeler world, but not new to the mechanic world. I was a diesel mechanic for many years and last year got into jet skis. I just bought a 1987 Yamaha moto 4 350 and now learning the ins and outs of 2 stroke engines. Looking forward to learning all the things.

      First post here need some help/advice. I bought a 2001 king quad 300, vin number JSAAK43A212111871. I have been trying to do some basic maintenance as it runs but doesn't idle all that well . I want to take out and clean/repair the  carb but when looking for parts it ask for model X Y K1 K2. How do I know which model I have? I have tried some vin decoders but they haven't told me. If anyone could recommend a carb rebuild kit for my quad Id appreciate it. Also any tips on tracking down an owners manual?
