I'm so happy I found this resource. My son got a Big Bear 400 for next to free and it needs a LOT of work. Motor runs great but the diffs are shot and the suspension needs rebuilt.

I am also looking for a service manual for 2005 Big Bear 400

Is yours the AIR COOLED model, like mine? It has a small oil cooler, and cylinder/heads are finned, no water jackets.
That manual seems to be missing...been searchiung for year.
I was unaware they offered a water-cooled, belt drive BigBear  that year.

At wits end trying to find the  service manual for 2004-06 Bruin 350 4x4 service manual

Have looked thru the downloads here and unable to find it

I downloaded the big 1GB 2005 file but the Bruin 350 manual was not in there

When you click on the link for the YFM350 manual it opens the 400FAR

Any help appreciated

I am also looking for the YFM35FAVH, 2006 Bruin 350 Auto 4X4 service manual.  Looked just about everywhere.

I've downloaded the 2005 Yamaha Service Line Manual and the 2003 Yamaha YFM 350 FWAN Service Manual, close on some things but not quite there.

Also, Thanks oxidized_black for all the work you are doing here, looks like it must keep you pretty busy.  I really like the way you have it setup with selecting the Yamaha model for the manual you need, very slick.

Thanks again for all the work

Has anyone used repairloader.com for the purchase/download of manuals.  I have this link http://www.repairloader.com/manual.php/61fb36 to this site, they say they have the manual for "Yamaha 04-07 BRUIN 350 4X4 service manual PDF Download And Owners Manual ATV Workshop Shop Repair Manual" but there are no pictures of what is being purchased, looks like i'd be purchasing the manual on a hope & a prayer, not sure I have that much faith.

Thanks

The manual that oxidized_black posted "2003 Yamaha YFM 350 FWAN service manual" has the correct wiring diagram for my 2006 Bruin 350 Auto 4X4.  Took me a little while to figure it out.  The electrical diagram is on the very last page of this manual page 119.

Also, I want to give-off about how bad Yamaha support is.  I remember a time when you always received a wiring diagram with your owners manual; no more, I guess 1 more piece of paper is to much for Yamaha.  I have been all over Yamaha's support website looking for a service manual or at least just a electrical diagram for my 2006 Bruin, nothing.  I have looked off & on for 2 days on the internet and have been unable to find anything.  If it wasn't for dedicated and selfless people like oxidized_black a lot of Yamaha customers would really be SOL.  How hard can it be to support owners who previously purchased a $7,500 machine from you; an electrical diagram would be less than a kilobyte of data space on one of your servers.  And why are you (Yamaha) unable to sell a digital copies of the service manuals for older manuals, how hard could it be, with just half a thought for your past customers, how hard can it be.  Terrible support.  I am in the market for a new ATV, my existing ATV will be passed down.  With this piss poor Yamaha support and customer loyalty I will be purchasing my new ATV elsewhere.

it'd be nice but stealerships make a big fat wad of cash fixing things so its not likely to happen. should be glad they havent done the john deere method where they dont allow anyone to work on their stuff at all.

This is a great forum,  I have one of the original (1999) 600 Grizzly's it is currently getting a new top end rebuild,  did many miles and day's on this ATV, only complaints are the solid rear axle, very fun bike.  Decided last fall to upgrade and purchased a 2019 700 Griz SE,  I'm so excited to get on the trails this summer with the new ride.  Nice to meet you all!

Looking for possible stator failure testing references for my 1992 Big Bear 350 4x4 that suddenly developed NO SPARK symptoms. Have installed new spark plug and new coil. Hoping to ID the problem before spending big on new CDI as last resort.

Any help appreciated.

Hey all,

I am looking for the service manual for a 2008 Yamaha Big Bear 400 here is some additional info.

2008 Yamaha YFM400FWN 4WD

Possible 2nd model # YFM40FBX

vin 5Y4AH29YX8A0020xx

I have searched high and low in the web and can not find the 2007-2012 service manual. I need to figure out how to clean/fix or replace my neutral switch assembly as generally the neutral light doesn’t come on when it is in neutral. To get it to come on I have to wiggle the foot shifter and hold it in just the right spot. Any help would be great.

thanks

Scott

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.

So we are almost a month into winter and I've been so busy working on my house that up until today, I didn't realize that we just haven;t gotten any real snow yet to warrant putting the plow on my grizzly. So that got me thinking, what are the latest plows out there and what ATV plows are the best? I've got 2 snow plows for my grizzly, a quadboss pile driver atv plow set up and a snowsport ATV plow. They are both a bit dated now and I tend to stick with the snowsport due to ease of use and I just like it so much. So if you have a plow on your ATV, please let us know what it is and post a picture with your atv/plow would be awesome. Would also like to know what you like and dislike about it.
This is back a while when I did a write up on these 2 plows.... in 2009 I got the snowsport and in 2012 I got the quadboss.

I have a Sportsman 450 HO and almost killed my self when loading it on my truck with ramps.  It rolled off the top of the ramps and tailgate and nearly landed on me.  I now want to winch the ATV in to the truck.  My question is are the front side bed tiedowns in my 2011 RAM strong enough to winch to without distorting the hooks or sides of the bed?
