2005 Kodiak 450

Have had this quad a little over a year now. Bought used with 700 miles. Always had a tiny high idle after being revved up and after about 15 seconds it would go down to normal idle.

Up until now we have completely cleaned the carb, all ports, jets, float and needle, new spark plug and have also adjusted the intake and exhaust valves. Intake was where it should be right within specs, exhaust was at the looser part of the spec so we tightened it up to the middle of the specs.

It runs a lot better after all that, but there is still a tiny little bit of high idle after being revved and the rpms fall back down, maybe 3 seconds if that. I took the spark plug out and it is basically white, like its burning a lean mixture, its not burning a nice golden brown color on the plug.

I would like to start with the fuel screw to try adjusting it a little to see if it would help, but I cant seem to find it. Could anyone give me some help of where its at and if its recessed in the carb a little?

Has anyone else had this problem? What do yall advise to do?

Part 39 is the idle adjustment. The idle is set correctly, just having a tiny high idle problem after being revved. Im looking for the fuel adjustment screw.

Thank you a lot! also, the pilot screw is under the bowl of the carb, but it is closer to the intake side which leads me to believe it is an air screw, but I know most 4 strokes have a fuel screw. Do you know which it is? just so I know which way to turn it.

      I Crashed My Quad
Well the Way I Ride, some of you knew it was Inevitable.
      Below are Three Videos.
First one is Slow Motion of How it Happens.
Second one is Normal Speed, and what happens after the Accident.
Third one Follows more of what happens after .

I Was Riding By Myself. I was going through a Mud HOLE Either there was a log or a rock, or A Dip but just as I was almost through it, Machine, Rolled over on my right side, as soon as I contacted the ground, I Heard A SNAP! I got up, flipped the Quad back over. I had the wind knocked out of me.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

As the 2025 ATV Motocross National Championship Series (ATVMX), an AMA National Championship, got underway with back-to-back Florida AMA Pro only events, it was evident that Phoenix Racing Yamaha’s Joel Hetrick picked up where he left off last season.View the full article

My name says it all. I have a '03 Honda Sporttrax 400EX with a new aftermarket carb on it that seems to be having issues. I can start it but it idles really rough and when I give it throttle it just kills the engine. I have tried adjusting the idle screw but to no avail. I am in the San Diego Ca area.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to get an owners manual for the thing too but can't seem to find a downloadable one.

So I’ve got a 2000 Honda 400ex absolutely love it!! I’ve had it for about a month, I ride with bruteforce 750’s, outlander 850’s and 1000 sxs’s and I was thinking of getting a trx450r carb and a full hmf exhaust. And probably doing the air box mod too, how much power would this give my 400? Just a little different or a big difference? Cuz if it’s not much of a different I’ll just stick with my dg slip on..... thanks!
