Hey all I Am new here and looking at my first atv! My options right now are as the title says; 2003 polaris sportsman 700 twin with winch and rear seat. new rubber and aluminum rims it has 3300km on it. the other one is a 2007 suzuki king quad 400 with winch and a plow. it also has a rear seat with it. the kicker is that has twice the km at 6000km. so I guess I am wondering which one is a better machine and if newer overrides km or less km more important than newer. also will the 700 be too big for me? I am 6 foot 2 inches and 170 pounds. thanks in advance for any input you may have for me. o and price does not matter as it Wilkinson be a trade for ny old truck

I own an 04 sporty 700 twin, it will move you with no issues at all. Depending on the riding you do the sporty is known for mud goin in the weep hole and blowing out your water pump seal, nice machines but also very heavy. Heaviest in its class I believe, don't know much about the suzuki but if your a mudder I would lean away from the 700....

thanks for the reply's. i was leaning towards the polaris myself but the suzuki is 4 years newer and i thought that might mean it would be a better machine, a lot can happen in 4 years but like i said it has 6000km which i thought was quite high! so is the older bike with half the km gonna be a wiser choice as far as wear and tear and the condition of the atv?

I would check both bikes over and see how the wear and tear on them are. It only takes a short distance on rocky trails to wear out the suspension or one time in the mudhole to mess up the motor. Looks for signs like warn a arm bushings, bad bearings, leaking seals, and mud in the airbox.

Since it sounds like your using it for some work, the 700 will probably be your better choice. It has a lot of power, but you'll be fine. Just try to keep it under a 100 your first couple times out. The high mileage on the other one wont be too big of an issue as long as it has been maintained very well, but I would set some money a side for a engine rebuild in the future. The only gripe I have about the 700 is that I heard it gets some pretty bad fuel mileage. I've never owned one so I can't verify. Solid proven machine though!

I Was Riding By Myself. I was going through a Mud HOLE Either there was a log or a rock, or A Dip but just as I was almost through it, Machine, Rolled over on my right side, as soon as I contacted the ground, I Heard A SNAP! I got up, flipped the Quad back over. I had the wind knocked out of me.

So we are almost a month into winter and I've been so busy working on my house that up until today, I didn't realize that we just haven;t gotten any real snow yet to warrant putting the plow on my grizzly. So that got me thinking, what are the latest plows out there and what ATV plows are the best? I've got 2 snow plows for my grizzly, a quadboss pile driver atv plow set up and a snowsport ATV plow. They are both a bit dated now and I tend to stick with the snowsport due to ease of use and I just like it so much. So if you have a plow on your ATV, please let us know what it is and post a picture with your atv/plow would be awesome. Would also like to know what you like and dislike about it.
This is back a while when I did a write up on these 2 plows.... in 2009 I got the snowsport and in 2012 I got the quadboss.

I have a Sportsman 450 HO and almost killed my self when loading it on my truck with ramps.  It rolled off the top of the ramps and tailgate and nearly landed on me.  I now want to winch the ATV in to the truck.  My question is are the front side bed tiedowns in my 2011 RAM strong enough to winch to without distorting the hooks or sides of the bed?
