Nothing yet. I still have not done the maiden voyage yet. Waiting on tires

I received the atv in a "basket" for a 100 bucks ,so I've been putting the puzzle together for quite some time and have noticed I have a an aftermarket suspension kit for the rear from 1987 I think. Stuff is still unopened in original packaging. I don't do any serious driving with my other toys . Occational trail riding and putzing in the back yard with it. So no jumps or serious hard driving.

Thank you.

I just finished restoring a 1983 honda 185s trike. Put about 200 miles on it last month and I was a little sore (NO SUSPENSION). So thats why I am interested in the rear on this project. I also just finished fabbing up a bracket for a front winch for it as well. I am a pipefitter so I do a fair amount of welding which is coming in very handy. I was also a machinist for 13 years so i got the mills and lathes for making what I need

I finally got around to working on the TRX, this has been an ongoing problem with this machine. This is a machine that we keep on my Fathers property, i dont see it that often, my brother haad it professionally repaired last year and year before same problem, the new starter gears and bypass gears last about a year and the machine is not used that often, he said he was done with it , so i thought i should go take a look. Sure enough the gears were all malled again.

IMG_4910.mov   There is some slack in there but most is taken up by the gear cover,if anyone with history with these machines has had the same problem, let me know your findings. Where i am now im looking for finding replacement honda gears on Ebay and try those. I suspect the original was replaced with aftermarket gears years ago and they just worse quality as the years go by.

Hi everyone, I’m new here and new to 4 wheelers. Just got a Yamaha bear tracker 250 and joined here to see if I could get some help.
The motor runs and it drives if it up on jackstands but if you get on and try to ride it, it starts to drive but then quits after a foot or two and dies out and won’t drive. The guy I got it from said he was running and using it shifting through all the gears great and he started it up the next day and it started this.
He told me he thought it was the U joint on the driveshaft. He said it was probably worn and needed to be replaced.
I just finished pulling the swing arm and rear end assembly to check out the U joint and there’s no play in it. It’s tight and not nearly enough play to be loose enough to not catch and go.
Any ideas on what it could actually be?
      Thanks
      Timothy
