i have a 95 polaris xplorer 400. just replaced the throttle cable. has oil inject cable as well. whats the procedure for adjusting the cable. start at the carb and adjust till the carb is wide open or start at the throttle adjuster on the bars. it seems to run ok and starts fine but now as soon as i hit the throttle hard it bogs and then catches up. im unsure of procedure.

That sounds more like a jettin issue !! IMO

the reason it does that is because the quad is idling to low. loosen off the cable on the handlebars, then adjust the idle screw on the carb until it has a smooth idle and does not bog when you hit the throttle. Then adjust the one on the handlebars until most of the slack except for approx an 1/8th of an in of movment in and out is obtained. then try it. from there it is just fine tuning so the quad doesn't idle up when you turn sharp left or right. good luck.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I have a 2002 Kawasaki Prairie KVF 400 and im trying to figure out the actual float height... i have read 17mm +- 2mm, seen 13mm and 23mm... what is happening is it will start right up, rev a little and all is fine, when it warms and you put a load on it bogs down and sputters. no i don't have a manual

My name says it all. I have a '03 Honda Sporttrax 400EX with a new aftermarket carb on it that seems to be having issues. I can start it but it idles really rough and when I give it throttle it just kills the engine. I have tried adjusting the idle screw but to no avail. I am in the San Diego Ca area.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to get an owners manual for the thing too but can't seem to find a downloadable one.
