What's the big deal about a honda 250r 3 wheeler. I have a chance to trade a guy a dirt bike for a 250r that he's had for sale, and says he can't give it away. says that it's all original, motor has never been touched, has some parts for it, and it runs.

I'm an old dude that doesn't have the urge for speed anymore, I bought the bike because my grandson's friend needed some money, and was going to sell it when this other old dude called me about this 250r and ask would I consider a trade. I haven't seen this bike yet, but would like to know what to look for or at when I do see it. Thanks

Check this site out maybe it will give you an idea of asking price:

There are a few guys on here that love to ride three wheelers and maybe they will chime in. Unless it is a rare make I would say a few hundred tops.

I live in ND and I was born to ride Honda's!! I started riding when I was 5 and I was born in 83 so 3 Wheelers were still all the rage back then but anyways .. there r 2 250Rs up for sale in my area. 1 is a 85 and the other is 84 and these 2 different Guy's are both selling them for or $1200 & $1300 and u just find many for sale these days do to the fact that they are rare!! I would buy either one in a Hartbeat if I had the money!! But if u r just look to ride and not have it in the powerband all the time then idk if this is what u would want.

the old air cooled 250r is not the 1 that every 1 is looking for ... if its the watered cooled version 1985 and 1986 then its a good 1 you could get it and sell it on ebay with no problems ... if it is the water cooled 250r and is in real good condition it will sell for about 1500 and some times more

I’ve got a 2000 400ex with a dg slip on muffler, it came with he stock muffler on it but the previous owner had the dg in a box so I put it on. I’ve been riding it for the past month and a half and every time I let off it backfires, and the other day the backfires got way louder, 2x louder! I’m concerned that I may hurt my motor? Why does is backfire??? Thanks

Troubleshooting a no spark issue, was running OK, maybe a little rich, turned it off, now no spark. I've checked/ohmed out the main key switch, the start/stop switch, neutral switch, brake switch - all good. It will crank the starter, but no spark with the starter or when I try the pull start. I've checked all fuses and diodes. Swapped battery. New plug. New coil. Swapped in a used CDI - no help. Traced, removed, cleaned, reattached all grounds. Removed things like my winch from the circuits to be sure a bad relay or something was dragging it down. When testing voltages, the orange wire going from the CDI to the ignition coil shows no/very low voltage-shouldn't it have 12V on it? Sometimes I get a very weak, intermittent glow on my spark tester, but not enough to fire the plug. I've checked continuity on just about all wires in the harness. Checked/cleaned/lubed w dielectric grease- all connections, redid a few that looked old/dirty. I've checked the stator resistances, all good, but have a stator and rectifier ordered anyway, will arrive Sunday. I verified that the rectifier has a voltage output back to charge the battery while cranking - 10.5-11V, low, but expected while starter is engaged. What else can I check as part of troubleshooting? I have a Haines service manual, but the 1999 350 4x4 seems to be an odd model, there isn't an exact electrical diagram for it, but found one for another year that has all the same number of wires and same color wires, so I've referenced that. Any hints, tips or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

My name says it all. I have a '03 Honda Sporttrax 400EX with a new aftermarket carb on it that seems to be having issues. I can start it but it idles really rough and when I give it throttle it just kills the engine. I have tried adjusting the idle screw but to no avail. I am in the San Diego Ca area.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to get an owners manual for the thing too but can't seem to find a downloadable one.

I recently bought a 87 TRX 250 not running of course, the owner had a brand new Key Switch on it.
I think it is the wrong one or wrong wire colors as the colors dont match up with wiring diagram i downloaded for it.
anyone have a pic of their ign switch wires where they connect with the wire colors for that model? I ended up leaving the black/w stripe and
green wire disconnected in order to hot wire it for other testing but would like to know as the colors dont match diagram.

Hello all! I’m new to the 4 wheeler world, but not new to the mechanic world. I was a diesel mechanic for many years and last year got into jet skis. I just bought a 1987 Yamaha moto 4 350 and now learning the ins and outs of 2 stroke engines. Looking forward to learning all the things.
