This modification has been tested and works. I think if you decide to do this mod you should install a small waterproof switch so it can be returned to stock configuration. I personally do not want to defeat the limiter as I have riders of various skill levels riding my bike. But I understand the desire to defeat the reverse limiter. With that said.

Here are the wires to jump on a 2007 AC700EFI(Suzuki engine). Just a simple jumper from wire to wire. Fully seal all connections whether butt connector or solder(preferred). Do not ground or disconnect any wire.

On the ECU Module; it is the Gry/Blu wire, (grey with blue tracer) in the 8th position from the right. See the pictures and enlarge to see the numbers.

On the 2WD relay(outside); it is the Wht/Vlt wire, (white with violet tracer) on terminal #85. If you will pull the plastic rivet and lift the relay, looking at the bottom you will see that it is numbered.

Basically you are telling the ECU that you are in a forward gear when in reverse. There is no notice to the ECU that you are in reverse that I can find, only notice to the ECU that you are not in a forward gear when in reverse. That does eliminate the reverse rev limiter. As far as I can tell all other limiters will be operational and the indications on the POD should be ok.

It has been found that the wire colors are different from year to year and maybe even during the model year run.

The blue tracer on the grey wire is on the bottom in the picture.

ETA; Before doing any wiring changes on your quad, or anything, disconnect your battery.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

Hello all! I’m new to the 4 wheeler world, but not new to the mechanic world. I was a diesel mechanic for many years and last year got into jet skis. I just bought a 1987 Yamaha moto 4 350 and now learning the ins and outs of 2 stroke engines. Looking forward to learning all the things.

I finally got around to working on the TRX, this has been an ongoing problem with this machine. This is a machine that we keep on my Fathers property, i dont see it that often, my brother haad it professionally repaired last year and year before same problem, the new starter gears and bypass gears last about a year and the machine is not used that often, he said he was done with it , so i thought i should go take a look. Sure enough the gears were all malled again.

IMG_4910.mov   There is some slack in there but most is taken up by the gear cover,if anyone with history with these machines has had the same problem, let me know your findings. Where i am now im looking for finding replacement honda gears on Ebay and try those. I suspect the original was replaced with aftermarket gears years ago and they just worse quality as the years go by.

Picked up this old 2000 polaris sportsman 500 and the speedometer is dead .Tried the bypass to get the awd drive to work but no luck.I grounded the 2 brown wires going to the hubs .Didn't work. The AWD light does not come on and there is no power on the grey wires going to the hubs .I even tried connecting the 2 brown wires at the speedometer plug in .There is 12 volts on the red with white stripe connected to brown at the speedometer plug in .Does the speedometer need to be plugged back in for this to work.Could it be the switch or a burned AWD bulb ?
