I just purchased a 2006 Outlaw 500 and found a loose ground wire. I need help to find out where this wire should be attached.

The main ground wire goes from the negative battery terminal to the chassis directly above the battery. The ground wire I need help with attaches to the same spot on the chassis above the battery however; the opposite end of the ground wire is loose.

Can any of you Outlaw 500 owners tell me where this ground wire should go? A picture would help tremendously!!!

I have searched for wiring diagrams and repair manuals but all of those free downloads are shut down due to copyright issues.

Thanks for your help.

Are you having any problems with anything electrical? If something is acting up, that might be an indication of where the wire needs to go. There are a couple of other Outlaw owners here, hopefully one of them will see this thread and have some help for you. Good luck.

I haven't noticed it affecting anything yet. Only ridden it once for 5 minutes and everything seems to work. Just concerned about a loose ground wire. It is a thick ground cable so it must be intended for something.

If any of you Outlaw 500 owners get a chance and have the front plastics off your quad, please look at this cable and tell me where it is suppose to be ground to. The one I'm speaking of is attached to the frame just above the battery. There are two black cables that attach to the same location. One of them leads to the negative side of the battery and the other is loose on my quad. Where does the second cable attach to on your quad.

Thanks for any input,

Doug

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I’m brand new to 4 wheelers and just bought a 1987 Yamaha Moto 4 350. It has good compression and fuel, but no spark. I’ve looked high and low trying to find how to test all the components of the ignition system, but can’t find anything. This has a new CDI box on it, but I suspect it might be the stator. How do I test the stator on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i just picked this up. was told ran fine but overheating issues led to replacing head gasket and head. has not ran since. he is not a mechanic but helped someone else who he could not get back to finish job, got aggravated and put up for sale. i was thinking timing issues. i have 110-120psi on all 3 cylinders so i think valves are correct. dont know about distributor yet. however i have no spark. i have no power going to ignition coil. tried to follow white wire but gets lost in wire harness. does anyone have a wiring diagram? can anyone tell me what conditions have to be met before starting. motor turns over so i would think all safeties are met but you never know.

I am new to this site. Now down to business, I have been given a Kawasaki 220, tires are trashed and it has been setting for a long time. Do I need a battery in it to find neutral? I know there is a neutral switch and if I shift down(7 times????)   then up one using the neutral switch I should be in Neutral. As you see I am in a learning curve here ......coments welcome.
