Yes i have a 1990 LT4WD that wont start. I make sure its in neutral and nothing happens, and i mean nothing its like theres no battery in it. And this is with the neutral indicator light not lighting up.I suspect its the neutral switch or the neutral relay? Also when i put it in reverse the reverse indicator light comes on, which leads me to beleive its either the neutral switch or the neutral realay. Any help here would greatly appreciated and thanx.

There is a neutral start relay, should be located under the front fender somewhere in some kind of electrical/fuse cluster. As far as I can tell, it is the only relay in the area. There is also a gear position switch that is located on the same side of the motor case as the shifter, it should be right behind it, if it is on the outside of the motor. An electrical tester may come in handy when diagnosing this problem, you use it to tell if the relay is bad, or if you are losing power somewhere else in the curcuit. Good luck.

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

I have a 1990 Bayou 220 that runs pretty well for it's age--needs a new muffler, but sounds tough.    Have had to start with a pull cord since I got it, and recently started troubleshooting the start button.  Finding a lot of information on this issue in the forum, but haven't been able to chase it down yet.  Got a new battery, new starter solenoid, and going to replace the starter relay this week, but not convinced that's going to do the trick, since I can't get the neutral light on when turning the key on.  I can start it by jumping the solenoid, but the 2 black wires to the relay do not activate the starter.  Bad ground or a short somewhere?  Is there a good way to just test the ground?

Bought 4 wheeler for kids. Used to run and soon as it was put in gear it died. I have put new carburater, new plug and battery. The neutral light won't come on. I replaced the solenoid, then the positive battery cable and today put new relay assembly on. Still no neutral light. Not getting any juice and I don't know why.

Need some help putting a new ignition switch on this thing. I'm not finding homes for all the wires. I can hook up the white wire and brown wire, But the switch has a B/W and Solid Yellow wire i can't find a home for, and there aren't any more wires in the vicinity from the harness that match this, except one red wire with a double female end crimped on, and a few B/Y grounds. None of the wiring diagrams i've founder or have been given match.
I'm also wondering if i have the wrong switch? some switches appear to have 4 wires and other just 2, the Brown wire and a White wire.
I'm at a loss here. Thanks.
