I have often seen deer on many rides that I have been on. Last week I saw a very odd looking buck in southwestern B.C. The area I was in is well known for many Coastal blacktail deer. (kind of like a small mule deer) This is NOT whitetail country.. Well, I saw a small buck grazing near several does, but it was much, much lighter in color than the does. The antlers were also very light colored and had a main branch like a white tail. What made this so strange is that it had a black tipped tail like a coastal deer. Of course I didn't have a camera. Is it possible that I what I saw was a cross of different breeds?

Yep it is hard to tell. Deer coloring here runs the whole spectrum. I saw some up in the mountains a couple of weeks ago that were very dark almost black. These were whitetails that is pretty much all we have. We have some fallow deer. I would so love to go to Alaska and see all of the wonderful wildlife you guys have.

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

So here where I live in Newfoundland Canada, they let you drive your bike on the road provided it’s registered and insured same goes for crossing highways but on trails you don’t need to be insured. And I don’t even think you need a full license to insure your bike they said it was up to the insurance company. I’m trying to get my old 1985 Suzuki 250 registered they have to do a search for it to make sure it hasn’t been in anyone else’s name first. Hopefully it comes back clean I am pretty excited

I've been using Valvolene 10w 40 ATV oil but, it's like $8.00 a quart. Is that about the going rate? Or is there cheaper alternatives that would be suitable? Thanks
