Decided it was time for a better hauler to pull my trailer around. Found a super clean 2003 GMC Sierra 2500hd 4x4 Duramax. It should pull a trailer full of bikes like there is nothing there. I cant leave anything stock so for now im ordering a Diablo Predator programer and a 4 inch turbo back MBRP exhaust. Here are some pics enjoy!

i paid $19,900 for it with a full tank of diesel, its as clean as a new one. I have the window sticker and it sold for $41,000 when it was new.

I just ordered an exhaust like this one but i got mine of ebay a lot cheaper.

MBRP Installer Series Aluminized 4" Single Duramax Exhaust System (Turbo-Back)

there is a video clip towards the middle, sounds awesome.

Im still undecided on a programer so im researching more. Anyone have any imput on programers???

Same here, I recently bought THE BEAST, and it's only getting 10.8 MPG.....either something's wrong, or I need a chip and a couple other mods to keep the towing power, but increase the MPG.

As for the details, 08 F-450 SD. 6.4 Liter Detroit (Dual) Turbo Diesel V8.

a buddy of mine that i work with has the same truck as this one and he gets from 16-18 all the time and sometimes even better on long trips.. im not worried about gas mileage, just want a little more power..

I'd like more gas mileage, one cause it's easier on the wallet, and 2 I plan on taking a few road trips once I get the RV my truck will be towing, and I'll have that in about 3 days. :)

The Ford Powerstroke diesel engines are made by Navistar (International), not Detroit. The old GM 6.5 Liter diesels were made by Detroit, as far as I know, that is the last Detroit diesel engine offered in a pickup.

That's what I am here for, I need to find some way to use all the useless information that has logded itself in my brain. That is a nice truck though, that thing should be able to tow a 747 if you wanted to.

ya, found out today that some jackass, when he cut off the plug for the trailers power on my tow package, they clipped it off (yes cut it), ABOVE the coupler so that now, I not only have to buy a new 7 prong plug, but also a coupler and splice it back together....gladly I'm taking it in for 5th Wheel work tomorrow so I'm sure they will fix the situation.

1st problem, Does anyone know where I can find a stock carb for my Timberwolf, I have tried two different aftermarket carbs and they both suck. The machine runs great until it gets good and warm, then it keeps stalling unless I feather the throttle. it will even stall while I'm trying to go from 1st to reverse or vise versa. I took it to a buddy of mine who is a bike mechanic for years, and he told me try to find a factory carb. When I look online from dealers it says "NOT AVAILABLE" anyone have any suggestions ?

2nd, The small tab on the rear axle for towing is to short for even pulling my small yard trailer, I can't even turn a little bit and hit hits. I tried making an extension which worked great as far as length, but it bends the tab and then the extension drags the ground. I have an idea of what to do to fix it, but wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and see how you solved it.

So I decided to pick up a small trailer if I could get one for the right price.  I found this one for a few hundred bucks on Craig’s list.  It is  a galvanized trailer which is exactly what I was looking for. The wood was shot and needed some minor repairs which I could care less about as long as the chassis was good.
I striped it down and put a new deck on. I had some vinyl realtree graphics that I had laying around so I added them to the fenders which I think worked out well. Very happy with this little guy.
I'm having the iron workers at my jobmake me up a few lightweight side rails that will have a 22 degree bend in them to accommodate the tires that slightly hang over the edge and will incorporate some tie down points as well.

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

Troubleshooting a no spark issue, was running OK, maybe a little rich, turned it off, now no spark. I've checked/ohmed out the main key switch, the start/stop switch, neutral switch, brake switch - all good. It will crank the starter, but no spark with the starter or when I try the pull start. I've checked all fuses and diodes. Swapped battery. New plug. New coil. Swapped in a used CDI - no help. Traced, removed, cleaned, reattached all grounds. Removed things like my winch from the circuits to be sure a bad relay or something was dragging it down. When testing voltages, the orange wire going from the CDI to the ignition coil shows no/very low voltage-shouldn't it have 12V on it? Sometimes I get a very weak, intermittent glow on my spark tester, but not enough to fire the plug. I've checked continuity on just about all wires in the harness. Checked/cleaned/lubed w dielectric grease- all connections, redid a few that looked old/dirty. I've checked the stator resistances, all good, but have a stator and rectifier ordered anyway, will arrive Sunday. I verified that the rectifier has a voltage output back to charge the battery while cranking - 10.5-11V, low, but expected while starter is engaged. What else can I check as part of troubleshooting? I have a Haines service manual, but the 1999 350 4x4 seems to be an odd model, there isn't an exact electrical diagram for it, but found one for another year that has all the same number of wires and same color wires, so I've referenced that. Any hints, tips or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
