Just a few things I have noticed in the Short time that I have owned this Jeep.....

1. It leans to the Drivers side....More in the Rear of it than anything...Kinda Like Suspension Sag....Is this a normal thing for these guys or is it something I need to look into.....

2. Sometimes when driving it around a corner I can feel something in the Rear kinda "Kick Loose" or Shift Back...If that makes any sense....But when I crawl under it,,,,It seems like everything is still "Right and Tight".....Any thoughts on this????

3. Despite the 2 things listed above....The Kewl factor for me is just Never Ending....I LOVE to drive this Jeep...

1. Was your father mainly the only person in the Jeep when it was driven. No passengers most of the time. If the answers is yes, it is could drive sag. Very common during the 70's and 80's on most vehicles. New springs will cure this.

2. Spring packs being lose and or wore out can cause this Also tired shocks. A locking rear end can amplify this affect.

3. Iwant to see a picture of your purdy MUG shot in the Jeep.

1. Correct on the No passangers most of the Time....

2. Going off of the Receipts Dating back to 86.....1999 he installed Lockers, Dana30 and 40, 410 Gears, Rancho 2 1/2 Lift with Shocks, Took Stock Carb off and had the Factory install Fuel Injection, K&N filter....Ill go through the list when I get home....Ill also crawl under it again and Recheck everything

No thanks needed. Just sharing from what I learned while working for dad. Back in the day that was how most trucks around here were set up.

Man that thing is in great shape. I thought it was a newer jeep from the pic in the other post. Sounds to me like the left side leaf spring is sagging. You can get leaf spring support kit.."add a leaf" or something like that. One tip..JCWhitney has a ton of stuff for Jeeps! Jeep Helper Spring at JC Whitney

I don't own a jeep, but have worked on them and my friend owned an 85 or 86 CJ7.

      I went to NYC over the weekend to see the tree at Rockefeller with tha family, and on the way down from about 50 miles north could not help but keep looking in the sky while driving at diffent lights. Planes, small planes, choppers? Some of them looked like slow moving drones but not really sure. If you are in the tri-state area, you can't help but wonder what's going on... thoughts?

      Convert solid rear axle to a differntial?

      I have an Axis 500 made by Hisun.  I uses a solid rear gearbox with no differential action. 
      I would like to convert this to a true differential with locking ability.  I've searched all over trying to find a source with no luck.
      Has anyone done this before, or know of a source?

      I been working on this thing for like 2 months now and it will not run right, is very smokey, and has a pretty loud tap that i think is in the bottom end. Not sure how much the parts are but i will put the time into it if they are pretty cheap. Im not very experienced but going off how the plug looks and the oil on top of the piston i am getting a whole lot of oil coming in from somewhere, not sure if it can come from the valves or if the rings are just shot, my cheap scope cant really see the walls of the cylinder too well.
