Ok so I bought a 2003 ltz400 I looked at a lot of bikes asked a lot of questions and kept coming up with crap. The first I looked at was a gas gas 300 but the bike had electrical problems, the second was a mint ltz 400 guy didnt have a title, registration, and would not give me the vin number so it was probably stolen, then I looked at a few worked 300ex's but was not impressed at all, then it was a kfx400 but emergncy brake didnt work dead battery , ect. then I found another ltz400 went to the house checked the motor it was cold he couldnt get it started. Apparently this guy only rode it once since he bought it 2 years ago i thought it was a little wierd but it checked out there was no gas in the bike so i bought a gallon of 93 and threw it in warmed it up started fine idled fine oil was super clean i mean it really looked like he bought the bike from a dealer rode it once and then had no more time. So Im super happy and going to the lost trails in pa the sunday after easter maye Ill see some of you guys there

400ex all the way man but im an owner. for the begginer in mind on the trails there best the 450's can be learned quickly but are a bit harder to learn on in the trails.

I would if looking at the Z400 or KFX400 or DVX400 I would get the KFX there the best over the other 2. There exactly the same all the way around but the KFX has better suspension from the factory even over the EX and is a great machine but the EX is a way reliable bike and is also several hundred cheaper.

So.. it a weird one.. The quad surges as you go down the road. By the looks of my tracks, it's one wheel only. High range, low range, 2 wd , 4 wd.. It just doesn't matter..
You can see in the pictures the marks it leaves. That was in a straight line, with hardly any acceleration.
      Any ideas?

I have a 1985 Suzuki LT230 GE quadrunner.  It has been stored in a shed for at least the last 15 years and has very low mileage.  Although the tires look and feel great... should I consider changing them since they are 38 years old?  I don't intend to ride to far or too fast but I don't want to have to walk out of the bush.  Any input would be welcome.

I am in the process of puting it back together after replacing the DPS gearbox.
The manual I have states that it will need to be flashed by a dealer. Is this still true?
Also , I have a mystery bolt That I cannot remember where it goes. M6x 70 or so.  Hex head with a flat washer.I will try to attach a pic.
Pic is no go for now....Cox issue I will try again later
      TIA
