I need a engine for a 04 500 tbx. My dads quad was really messed up by a local dealer they cracked the engine cases. I have now taken them to court got some coin from them and want to find a wrecked quad or junk yard that has a motor. Because a tear down part by part would cost way to much. Let me know what sourses you all have.

Thanks cway

No I still have not found a engine but I have not been looking that hard. I keep watching e-bay and the salvage yards but nothing yet.

Yes it is a Suzuki Motor I know that I just don't know if the two will interchange. After looking I have not found any Suzuki 500's either. I am looking into putting a 650 H1 in it, I have to change the wire harness, Head pipe, and cdi for starters but it would give it more balls.

Motor mounts are easily moved, new mounts are often the easiest part of a motor swap. Depending on how different the motors are, clearances and intake/exhaust plumbing are the most difficult part IMO. Are the 650 and 500 motors based on the same design? If so, the bottom end may bolt in the same, it may just be the top end that needs modification.

i was looking at the diagrams of both ur 500 and the 650 h1 and their very similar especial the mounts.. the only thing that was really noticeable was the exhaust and the top left side engine brackets... besides that their very similar.. and the intake as well is pretty similar the only thing was the exhaust pipe shield on the 650 which the 500 did not have

I have heard that the suzuki 500 will work, and they look like it will. I have a great running bike i'm thinking of parting out on ebay, its just that there hasn't been enough sold on there recently, and i dont want to put everything on there for nothing.but if i could guarantee to sell the engine,i would consider it. Email me @ [email protected] if you want to talk more.

      I Crashed My Quad
Well the Way I Ride, some of you knew it was Inevitable.
      Below are Three Videos.

Second one is Normal Speed, and what happens after the Accident.
Third one Follows more of what happens after .

I Was Riding By Myself. I was going through a Mud HOLE Either there was a log or a rock, or A Dip but just as I was almost through it, Machine, Rolled over on my right side, as soon as I contacted the ground, I Heard A SNAP! I got up, flipped the Quad back over. I had the wind knocked out of me.

I’m brand new to 4 wheelers and just bought a 1987 Yamaha Moto 4 350. It has good compression and fuel, but no spark. I’ve looked high and low trying to find how to test all the components of the ignition system, but can’t find anything. This has a new CDI box on it, but I suspect it might be the stator. How do I test the stator on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i just picked this up. was told ran fine but overheating issues led to replacing head gasket and head. has not ran since. he is not a mechanic but helped someone else who he could not get back to finish job, got aggravated and put up for sale. i was thinking timing issues. i have 110-120psi on all 3 cylinders so i think valves are correct. dont know about distributor yet. however i have no spark. i have no power going to ignition coil. tried to follow white wire but gets lost in wire harness. does anyone have a wiring diagram? can anyone tell me what conditions have to be met before starting. motor turns over so i would think all safeties are met but you never know.

I am new to this site. Now down to business, I have been given a Kawasaki 220, tires are trashed and it has been setting for a long time. Do I need a battery in it to find neutral? I know there is a neutral switch and if I shift down(7 times????)   then up one using the neutral switch I should be in Neutral. As you see I am in a learning curve here ......coments welcome.

I bought a 1996 Sportsman 500 4x4 about a month ago, and I love it. Unfortunately, I've been experiencing a few problems with the high-range gear. The first problem is that the gear selector will intermittently pop out of high and into neutral. This problem will sometimes occur when starting from a stop and sometimes will also occur while at cruising speed. The last time this happened I stopped and put it back into gear, however, as soon as I tried to throttle the machine would die. I turned it on again with no problems put it back into high and it died again. Once again I turned it on with no problems put it into low instead and it worked fine with no problem. I drove in low down the road slowly for a little and then shifted back into high with no issues.
I plan on working on it this weekend and would just like some opinions or feedback from anyone who may have experienced these problems before. I'm very mechanically inclined but im unsure of exactly where to start as this is the first Polaris ATV that I've owned. Any feedback is appreciated and thanks in advance
