i have a 06 yfz450 with a 05 bottom end it has a heavy duty crank and a 06 top end i just put it all back together it runs great i had a 170 jet with a 48 main jet, i put a 168 jet back in because i had a guy that used to be a factory mechanic on a race team look at it and he told me to do so. Now with a 168 jet it when i rev it, it backfires not all the time just every once in awhile i got the clip on the needle on the 4th setting and im running straight turbo blue. evrything is in time

Hows your Valves for Clearance....????? Also,,,,,Sometimes you could be getting some Cold air into the Exhaust at the head....The Cold air hitting the Hot air inside could cause some popping....Have you done a Plug Chop to see what your Jetting is Doing????/ Rich or lean???? There are just too many things that may be wrong....I would suggest you seek out the Cheapest Fix First and move up the ladder....

it doesnt backfire any other time just when its sitting there idling and i rev it up it will back fire , it wont do it with the 170 jet but the bike has more power with the 168, its not like a backfire, it will shoot a flame out the exhaust.

ok, its doesnt do it anymore. Now i notice it tops out really fast with the 168 jet and i tapping off the rev limiter with the 170 it took awhile beforethe rev limiter would hit, the bike is super fast and hits the limiter quick

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

As the 2025 ATV Motocross National Championship Series (ATVMX), an AMA National Championship, got underway with back-to-back Florida AMA Pro only events, it was evident that Phoenix Racing Yamaha’s Joel Hetrick picked up where he left off last season.View the full article

I recently bought a 87 TRX 250 not running of course, the owner had a brand new Key Switch on it.
I think it is the wrong one or wrong wire colors as the colors dont match up with wiring diagram i downloaded for it.
anyone have a pic of their ign switch wires where they connect with the wire colors for that model? I ended up leaving the black/w stripe and
green wire disconnected in order to hot wire it for other testing but would like to know as the colors dont match diagram.

I hadn't driven my Kodiak for a two months, and since it was low on fuel, the first thing I did was filled it up to maybe 7/8 full. Getting ready to start it, I rotated the fuel selector switch to "on" and within seconds I smelled and saw fuel dripping onto the floor. I quickly turned it off and the fuel gradually stopped - I can repeat this.
The fuel is flowing from the hose that is connected to the bottom of the carb, and routes around to the left side toward the wheel well. Any idea what's going on here? It ran fine the last time I had it out.
      Thanks...

Hello all! I’m new to the 4 wheeler world, but not new to the mechanic world. I was a diesel mechanic for many years and last year got into jet skis. I just bought a 1987 Yamaha moto 4 350 and now learning the ins and outs of 2 stroke engines. Looking forward to learning all the things.
