How does everyone feel about who McCain picked? I think she has WAY too much personal baggage going on right now. She has a baby that is less than a year old, a 17 year old daughter that she obviously has no control over, her daughter is only getting married to save face for her mom. How is she going to travel all over the world and take care of her baby and probably her slutty daughters kid too.

Well, it was asked last night. Would you be asking the same question if she was a man? I think she has the same problems and challenges as any other "normal" American family. Will she be a good VP? That remains to be seen, but I like her. Besides, I think she's HOT!

I personally think that ANYBODY with an infant has no place in the White House. How is our country going to be her #1 concern? The only reason McCain picked her was to lure all the women who were stoked about Hilary. (sp)

I don't doubt that for a second. I think it was a brilliant move on his part. I didn't think he stood a chance of getting elected before that. Now I'm not so sure. Keep in mind that the VP has no real power unless the President dies.

I know, but he is what 72 years old? He can take a turn at any time. What I really don't like is how in every speech he does he has to talk about his POW days. Get over it, that was how long ago. Cool, I'm very glad he made it out alive but enough. What does him being a former POW have to do with him being president?

Remember the President and vice President are not a real concern. The other elected officals are the ones who screw up are lifes! The Pres and Vice Pres are only the fall people for screw ups! Its called a nanny or Mr. Mom to help her out.

Beats an illegal immigrant or some A$$hole who has Oprah backing him up!:aargh:

Atleast Palin can stand up to the big Oil companies for the people of Alaska. It's long over due for a woman to be in office, instead of a bunch of PECKERheads worring about who has the bigger pe***.

I think A woman VP with kids is going to do a great job, because she wants what is best for those KIDS' lives and that is what America needs, someone who makes decisions based on what is best for everyone's familys. If she was single and had no children would that make it better? I find the skirt comment and slut references offensive also. BTW, I am a Democrat that has no faith in Obama being able to lead period.

I meant no offense to anyone personally. I have no problem with a female being in the office. Just not one with an infant.

And the guy that her daughter is going to marry doesn't even want to marry her and doesn't want kids.

I doubt she feels any differently with an infant than she does with her son who is going off to war in Iraq.... Again, also no different than a father would for a teenage son or infant child. I just don't get that logic. And her daughter's life choice has nothing to do with the mother's job qualification, In My Humble Opinion.... I guess we just have to agree to disagree on this one.

I respect your opinion 100%. I just mean how can she devote ALL of her time (like the Pres. and the VP do) to our country when she has an infant to worry about. I would feel the same way with a male in her shoes. Someone is going to get the short end of the stick, either the kid will lack a real mom and suffer or our country lacks a VP that can travel to small third world countries on a whim like they do. Amongst other stuff the VP does.

John Tyler had 15 children....Zachary Taylor, Fredy and Teddy Roosevelt, George HW Bush and Grover Cleveland had 6....Andrew Johnson had 5....Abe Lincoln, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ron Reagan and Ulysses S. Grant had 4....

And those were presidents....granted they were the fathers, but don't tell me raising kids in the white house can't be done.

Posted

I didn't say it can't be done. How many of those in recent times were infants? Back in the day of Roosevelt and all that the man practically played no roll. A child could definitely be raised in the White house, but they shouldn't be.

I"M TALKING BABIES

People like her have others watching over their kids in addition to the father. It would never be an issue if a man was in question.

But I still don't like McCain, he's too old, and too much miltary.

No matter how you look at it, it will be a historic event..whoever gets voted in.

By chosing her, he reaches out to Clinton supporters with his ticket. Good move to get in the White House.

what's wrong with the president being focused on his countries defense force? Personally I think it's the most secure job in todays economy.

Oh, and we still don't get paid the best.

:realmad::aargh::realmad:well he should of taken more precautions or not slept with her at all. What does having a infant have to do with being VP, good for her and more power to her.

She' s a strong woman, she has five kids and yet she was able to govern alaska and do a great job at it. Come on she even sold her private jet on ebay :laugh:

As far as her pregnant daughter, people make mistakes and learn from them, i dont think that is a reflection on Palin being a bad mother nor does it have ne thing to do with the election or her being a good VP. Its my belief that its not the mistakes children make that make parents bad, its how they deal with the problems and mistakes that life brings. Her daughter will now have to grow up a lil quicker and have more responsibilities, but she will get through it and be just fine.

McCain isn't perfect but he has put his country first throughout his life. I don't believe that he brings up being a POW so people feel sorry for him. He brings it up because that has made him who he is now. It is his proof of how he has always put his country ahead of even his own life. It shows him having a great deal of leadership and experience that I just dont see in Obama. McCain has great knowledge on foreign policies while Palin has great knowledge on more domestic issues. Its a good team, not perfect but they have my vote. :cute: Noone has to agree and ne one is welcome to disagree, just my opinion.

And for those who are for obama cause he claims he'll pull us out of Iraq and Afghanistan as soon as he takes office.....The Iraqi Government and the Bush Administration have already laid out a plan to have our forces out by FY 2011....for those who don't know, that's October 2010....we have already turned over Falujia to the Iraqi forces, and continue to turn over the secure locations to them. There will still be reconstruction, so Those of us who have construction skills may be there longer, but THERE IS A PLAN. They can't announce it though cause then all Al Qaida will do is lay low, then as soon as it happens, they will errupt and go hay wire in the country....then guess who will be back in there. We can't announce a date cause of that....and if things come up before then, or if things get better before then, it will change the dates.

oh, and BTW, there have been more motorcycle deaths in the states in the last 6 months than there have been US military deaths in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

:iagreec:totally. I watched Palin's speech the other night and I must say I was pretty impressed!

I'm going to assume that celebrity moms can mostly be considered bad because they work and travel all the time. Especially those who are singers that tour? Just because a mom does not sit at home and devote 100% of her time to her children, that doesn't make her a bad mother. Many everyday America moms work a lot....what about those single moms who work two jobs to keep their children alive with food on the table. They can bust their butts working long hours around the clock to provide for their family, yet, because they're not with their children 24 hours a day they're bad??

Babies do require a lot of attention and have a lot of needs, but Trig Palin does have a dad, and I'm thinking he probably has a nanny that helps take care of him too.

McCain/Palin definitely get my vote.

:iagreec:My mom at one time, had 4 different jobs. She worked for the unemployment office, the Seattle PI (newspaper delivery), a substitute teacher, and a reserve police officer. Just to raise my sis and I. Don't tell me women with kids can't work.:usflag:

I'm not trying to say that women who work are bad moms and I'm not saying they can't. Anyways, I think we are screwed either way. McCain and Bush are the same and Obama is an idiot.

Yeah we're screwed. I have no idea who to vote for.

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.
