So I'm thinking ahead. When I decide to trade in my current ride or just get another, what should I get? I now ride a TRX450, I really want a KTM525 but the 08's are on back order so I don't see an 08 being available next year. The 09 is the same price as the Rhino, that's just stupid. Lets here what all of you think I should get.

I ride mostly rocky wooded trails. I visit the dunes about only once a year. I don't touch track, what you think? Buying used is out of the question.

You have way to much cash man. I wish that I could afford a new quad. I have a hard time keeping my 20 year old one going. I would love to have an LT450R, an Outlaw 525, a KTM525, or a Raptor 700.

yea i love yamaha but........i would NOT go for the rapt. 700r i have been told there to heavy and there power sucks but thats just what a couple ppl have told me , just a heads up something to look into.

I'm a Honda diehard. Raptor would be my last choice. You know how Honda guys feel about Yammies. The same way they feel about Hondas. I would go any other brand before Yamaha. Nothing against them performance wise, just don't want Blue.

I've only heard one negative thing about the KTM. The gas tank has this ridge that is meant just for looks. If the rider is over 6 feet tall their knees WILL be beat to crap. That is one thing that scares me. There are times when I'm riding hard and the next day I will have bruises on the inside of my knees. My tank is perfectly smooth. When I'm riding hard I'm leaning over the bars while standing up. So those knees are holding on to that tank for dear life.

I was looking at one the other day. The all black one, it's growing on me. I just don't know about 500 pounds.
Now your starting to sound like a High School Cheerleader. Worrying about weight.:aargh::icon_bsc::slob::dammit::vommit:Man, please tell me Roody and the to HEAVY crap did not rub off on you !?!?!?!?!?!?

well i bet you expected this.

2009 Outlaw 525S.

they shaved even more weight off of it.

they shaved 6 more lbs this year. eliminated the seat problem. and the new ones heel guards [which broke easily on the old ones] are aluminum. cheaper than KTM. Fox Shocks. MAXXIS tires. sounds like the pick for you IMO.

i agree on the the 700xx, too heavy! well if your bent on gettin a new quad then i would say get the ktm. ktm's repuation with dirtbikes won its way through with quads as well. well built and fasssst. idk bout the polaris i like the new look but my brother polaris was a piece of shitt on wheels. and so was my uncles scrambler. if it was me i would most definatly stay away from the polaris and save my money for the ktm  but its your choice.

I was actually looking at them online today. My cousin has a Polaris 525, I've had it up to 83mph down a sand wash. Crazy fast, but he's never had any issue. He even did the Mexico run with us last year.

The 08 KTM is practically impossible to get, the 09 cost as much as the Rhino.

the 08 are almost gone in GA. as far as i kno theres only 2 left and their at the same dealer, 8300 otd. i would wait a lil bit bot, honda MIGHT make some potential changes in the 450r for 2009 and 2010. thats jus a rumor goin around dealers tho.

Not trying to band bash or start an arguement. Go with an ATV that has proven it's self , not what the mags say is good. But what you hear about friend and forum buddies say.

Also your a die hard Honda feller, correct ?! I have friends who are die hard Honda riders . They are not happy with any thing but Honda. Just make sure before you buy an atv.

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.
