Ok...I'm gettin' me juevos ready to do an oir filter clean....

Went to my local harley/quad dealer and he had me purchase the No-Toil kit (Cleaner, Air Filter Oil, Rim Grease)

What I've read is that the No-Toil cleaner will NOT clean

other oils off air filters....just the No-Toil oil....

So, I've also read that others have cleaned their air filters

in the kitchen sink, used gasoline, or used flash solvent....

Looking for advice as I've mentioned I'm very mechanically

DECLINED!

I'm going to wash the air box seal in the sink and give it a good dry....

One more thing......No-Toil or Bel-Ray for filter oil?

Thanks!

USE KAROSINE!! NOT GASOLINE. karosine isnt as flammable as gas.

we jus soak ours in karosine,(we put the karosine in old dog bow. since mom is a cleanfreak) dry them with the air compressor, and spray some wd40 on em.then throw em back in.

Gasoline is usually more readily available and it works perfect. I soak mine in gas, ring it out and let it dry. I use PJ1 foam filter oil. A little axle grease on the rim and you're good to go. Of the 2 oils you mentioned I would go Bel-ray.

Ditto!!!!!! Been using Gas to Clean Foam Filters for Over 30 yrs.....NO PROBLEMS......

Good Luck!!!!!!

Oh,,,,I thought if you used a No Toil Filter you had to use the Oil and Cleaner as well???? Ill have to ask my Buddy.....He says he just puts his in the Washing machine

I use SimpleGreen, it cuts the oil, doesn't stink or explode in my face. [OK I'm sensitive about that hehe.] I prefer K/n Spray oil- if you buy the kit with the cleaner in it, it's not a BAD cleaner, I just have better luck with simplegreen. If I were still married I would NEVER bring gasoline into the house....:realmad:

Yeah..im with bot...its all done in the garage.

Some of those oil cleaners dont work as well as the can says...

The oil is also not easy to get off your hands so use rubber gloves.

Use gas or simple green.

I love the smell of simple green after you use it to wash your quad and it heats up. lol

Hubby usually leaves me to clean the filters
