Can you buy a repair kit for the brush assembly for a gear shift motor for a 2006 Honda rancher 350es? The base plate broke where it is attached by the two screws. Broke right at each screw. All I can find is kits for the starter motor.

I didn't see a repair kit , but I did see on amazon a new aftermarket motor assembly for less than 50.00, if your mounting plate is broken don't you need a new motor. OEM only showed the motor assembly for 180.00, no brush kit.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve seen the motors but they are useless without the brushes inside the body the shift motor mounts in, it is the brushes and wires in the bottom is a fiber board base that is held in by two screws this board is broken making this part that holds the brushes useless. Don’t know if I have to buy a new housing or if they make a kit to repair it with. They have brush repair kits for starter motors, but I can’t find one for the gear shift motor. I may just try to rig it with washers that will cover the breakage and see if that holds. Maybe add a little glue first.then I will straight wire the motor to the battery and see if it works. Will post the results.

Yes I’m going to get the motor. I’d like to get the shifting problem resolved with the manual shifter, before I put too much more money in it. But that’s in another post. Thanks for your help.

I’ve got a 2000 400ex with a dg slip on muffler, it came with he stock muffler on it but the previous owner had the dg in a box so I put it on. I’ve been riding it for the past month and a half and every time I let off it backfires, and the other day the backfires got way louder, 2x louder! I’m concerned that I may hurt my motor? Why does is backfire??? Thanks

My name says it all. I have a '03 Honda Sporttrax 400EX with a new aftermarket carb on it that seems to be having issues. I can start it but it idles really rough and when I give it throttle it just kills the engine. I have tried adjusting the idle screw but to no avail. I am in the San Diego Ca area.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to get an owners manual for the thing too but can't seem to find a downloadable one.

I recently bought a 87 TRX 250 not running of course, the owner had a brand new Key Switch on it.
I think it is the wrong one or wrong wire colors as the colors dont match up with wiring diagram i downloaded for it.
anyone have a pic of their ign switch wires where they connect with the wire colors for that model? I ended up leaving the black/w stripe and
green wire disconnected in order to hot wire it for other testing but would like to know as the colors dont match diagram.

I am new to this site. Now down to business, I have been given a Kawasaki 220, tires are trashed and it has been setting for a long time. Do I need a battery in it to find neutral? I know there is a neutral switch and if I shift down(7 times????)   then up one using the neutral switch I should be in Neutral. As you see I am in a learning curve here ......coments welcome.
