ran like a beast. sat for a couple of years. New cheap petcock, tank wash and cheap carb. bogs half throttle. 300.00 factory carb and the same. moved the needle no help. all new vent lines and battery. wouldn't think yhe timing should change.

So bogs and then just stays the same, struggling to go faster ? Or does it start dying out.. Actually get slower.

Have you checked the fuel is coming right to and through the carb fast enough. You could open the drain bung on the carb and make sure it keeps flowing after the bowl has drained.

Have you checked the exhaust isn't blocked..

Undo the carb drain bung and make sure the fuel is getting right through the carb. Just because it's getting to the carb doesn't necessarily mean it's getting into the carb.

Have you tried a new spark plug. It could be as simple as that.

And what about this question ...

"So bogs and then just stays the same, struggling to go faster ? Or does it start dying out.. Actually get slower."

great thought didn't think of that could be something in the needle valve. got too cold around here lately. will try soon. does not die out just can't go higher than maybe 2k.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

My name says it all. I have a '03 Honda Sporttrax 400EX with a new aftermarket carb on it that seems to be having issues. I can start it but it idles really rough and when I give it throttle it just kills the engine. I have tried adjusting the idle screw but to no avail. I am in the San Diego Ca area.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to get an owners manual for the thing too but can't seem to find a downloadable one.

So I’ve got a 2000 Honda 400ex absolutely love it!! I’ve had it for about a month, I ride with bruteforce 750’s, outlander 850’s and 1000 sxs’s and I was thinking of getting a trx450r carb and a full hmf exhaust. And probably doing the air box mod too, how much power would this give my 400? Just a little different or a big difference? Cuz if it’s not much of a different I’ll just stick with my dg slip on..... thanks!

I’m brand new to 4 wheelers and just bought a 1987 Yamaha Moto 4 350. It has good compression and fuel, but no spark. I’ve looked high and low trying to find how to test all the components of the ignition system, but can’t find anything. This has a new CDI box on it, but I suspect it might be the stator. How do I test the stator on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
