I have a 2007 400 Kodiak. The air box was full of gas (3") as well as the oil system (gushed out of the filler plug). What am I looking at here?

Fuel  valve left on and the carb flooded  either from a  bad seat or stuck float.  You'll need to  completely  drain the  crank case  and refill with fresh oil,   drain and clean the air box and find out why the carb flooded.

Pull the spark plug and make sure the cylinder is not also  flooded.

Thanks Dave, very quick response! I am in the process of getting a new carb bowl as the bowl drain valve wont seal. Maybe a new carb is in order.

The part you need to clean is the needle and seat that's connected to the float. The float needs checking too. Shake it to check it's not fill of fuel.

You should download the manual and read the section on carbies before you begin.

I have a 2002 Kawasaki Prairie KVF 400 and im trying to figure out the actual float height... i have read 17mm +- 2mm, seen 13mm and 23mm... what is happening is it will start right up, rev a little and all is fine, when it warms and you put a load on it bogs down and sputters. no i don't have a manual
