  • Admin changed the title to Idle issue on a 1988 Suzuki Quadrunner 250 lt

Well.. I'd say you probably disturbed something when you were working on it.. That's the most likely..haha..

Was the filter really dirty, could it be running correctly now(and high because someone had wound the idle up to compensate for poor running)? Have you tried slowing the idle ?

Could you have routed/pulled the throttle cable out so it's sticking where it fits into the carb, or perhaps you've knocked a vacuum hose off, or the choke isn't returned right in because the cable is snagged somewhere ?

Are you are sure it was the fuel line and filter you changed(some of those have a restrictive/one way valve that looks a bit like a fuel filter, but it's on a vacuum hose to the tap..,

Try the idle adjusting screw looks like a cog on mine or maybe on the end of an extension cable. I would try that before pulling anything else apart.

Hi my name is Greg and I just acquired a free 2000 yamaha kodiac 400 4x4 with the ultramatic transmission that does not run. I plan to get it going and use it around my property

I hadn't driven my Kodiak for a two months, and since it was low on fuel, the first thing I did was filled it up to maybe 7/8 full. Getting ready to start it, I rotated the fuel selector switch to "on" and within seconds I smelled and saw fuel dripping onto the floor. I quickly turned it off and the fuel gradually stopped - I can repeat this.
The fuel is flowing from the hose that is connected to the bottom of the carb, and routes around to the left side toward the wheel well. Any idea what's going on here? It ran fine the last time I had it out.
      Thanks...

Bought 4 wheeler for kids. Used to run and soon as it was put in gear it died. I have put new carburater, new plug and battery. The neutral light won't come on. I replaced the solenoid, then the positive battery cable and today put new relay assembly on. Still no neutral light. Not getting any juice and I don't know why.

Hello all! I’m new to the 4 wheeler world, but not new to the mechanic world. I was a diesel mechanic for many years and last year got into jet skis. I just bought a 1987 Yamaha moto 4 350 and now learning the ins and outs of 2 stroke engines. Looking forward to learning all the things.
