We replaced clutch plates, friction plates, primary and secondary clutches or centrifugal clutch. Has 4 stroke oil in it . We were told pressure plate or the four springs on the secondary clutch. What happens is once you go about 50 yards the trani starts to slip.

"4 stroke oil" doesn't mean anything.  The better question is if the oil is wet clutch approved, JASO or better.  Conventional non JASO oil will slip the clutches like crazy.  If it's JASO oil, then as mentioned above, it's likely a clutch adjustment issue.  or the Primary drum or shoes are shot.

The oil won't start causing a problem after fifty yards.  It's either not adjusted correctly, or there is some problem that was overlooked when they were overhauling the clutches.

The clutch springs might be buggered, the clutch basket might have notches where the plates rub, or the centrifugal clutch drum might be worn out.

It's got a lot of new parts, it will probably be something with the workmanship...  Better take it apart and have another look I think.

Another thought.. When you have it apart, check the gearchange is centering itself properly, and that the mechanism between the shifter and the clutch is operating correctly and isn't too worn.

I'm trying to help a buddy out with his bike (he's not really on the internet or familiar with these forums) and I'll admit that I am not super familiar with the transmission and clutches in these bikes. I owned a Brute a few years ago, but never had an issue like this that I had to troubleshoot.
So basically my buddy bought a group lot of 650's to build one good bike out of. He got it all put together and has it running but when he pushes on the throttle the clutch doesn't engage till the RPM's are quite high and even when its moving it doesn't really speed up, almost seems like its in "limp mode". He's tried 2 different transmissions so I don't think that's the problem.
Is there any adjustment on the clutch engagement? Anything else I can tell him to look at? Let me know if you need anymore information if you think you can help.

Does the 1987 moto 4 350 have a low oil sensor that kills spark? Or are these too old for that kind of thing?
