Polaris 425 Magnum Starting Issues

Will not start with out a shot of ether then only runs until it's burnt! Replaced fuel pump, carb, fuel filter, fuel shut off, new plug! I'm lost now! Could it have a bad coil? prior to this it would start and run fine!

If it only runs when you are adding a fuel source, you have a fuel issue. You mentioned a new carb, is it getting fuel?

Yes it's getting fuel! New fuel pump, filter, fuel shut off! I'm leaning towards an elec. problem maybe the CDI or coil!

Can't be an electrical related issue if it runs on ether. You have narrowed it down to a fuel delivery problem. 

How do you know its getting fuel?

check compression, timing and valve lash- those can contribute to your symptoms.  i agree with@MarkinAR , cant be electric related or it would not fire period.  had you tried cleaning your old carb before you bought a new one?  the choke is another thing id check- if its stuck open, itll flood the motor enough to not run

Check the plug boot, it has a resistor in it and it can go bad, should read about 5300 ohms. When it starts to get bad, it can deliver a weaker spark which will likely be enough to fire up on ether. The coils rarely go bad, it's usually that plug boot resistor and you can buy it and/or the boot and wire without the coil. The dealer will likely try to sell you the boot/wire/coil assembly.

I just went through this issue, running fine one day, then no start next time.
