Do any of you fine folks happen to have a rear swing arm skid plate for a 400EX you would part with at a reasonable price?  New ones are between $60 and a Hundo and that seems a bit steep.  I've kicked around the idea of fabbing one but 2nd hand OEM would be preferable.  Thoughts?  I have a belly skid plate but missing the swing arm skid plate and really don't wanna taco the brake rotor.

I have looked at making my own from flat steel but it's not possible to hug the brake rotor and sprocket close enough without being stamped steel.  It would just hang down too low.  I guess it could broken down into 100 small pieces and welded to duplicate stamping....

Spending $ 60 - 100 is cheap compared to screwing up the rear rotor and sprockets JMO

True...however $60 is paper thin ching chong knock off. Was hoping to find a good OEM 2nd hand but no luck...  it's about a Hundo for a decent aluminum piece.

I’ve got a 2000 400ex with a dg slip on muffler, it came with he stock muffler on it but the previous owner had the dg in a box so I put it on. I’ve been riding it for the past month and a half and every time I let off it backfires, and the other day the backfires got way louder, 2x louder! I’m concerned that I may hurt my motor? Why does is backfire??? Thanks

My name says it all. I have a '03 Honda Sporttrax 400EX with a new aftermarket carb on it that seems to be having issues. I can start it but it idles really rough and when I give it throttle it just kills the engine. I have tried adjusting the idle screw but to no avail. I am in the San Diego Ca area.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to get an owners manual for the thing too but can't seem to find a downloadable one.

So I’ve got a 2000 Honda 400ex absolutely love it!! I’ve had it for about a month, I ride with bruteforce 750’s, outlander 850’s and 1000 sxs’s and I was thinking of getting a trx450r carb and a full hmf exhaust. And probably doing the air box mod too, how much power would this give my 400? Just a little different or a big difference? Cuz if it’s not much of a different I’ll just stick with my dg slip on..... thanks!

First post here need some help/advice. I bought a 2001 king quad 300, vin number JSAAK43A212111871. I have been trying to do some basic maintenance as it runs but doesn't idle all that well . I want to take out and clean/repair the  carb but when looking for parts it ask for model X Y K1 K2. How do I know which model I have? I have tried some vin decoders but they haven't told me. If anyone could recommend a carb rebuild kit for my quad Id appreciate it. Also any tips on tracking down an owners manual?
