It's pretty straight forward and not a big deal  finding the sizes. And if anything is too long just  throw a nut on it and cut it to size and back the nut off to clean up the edges maybe even file it down a hair.
12mm & 10mm make up most of the sizes.

Alright well i got the carb cleaned and a bunch of other stuff done doesnt seem to be running as rich, but now i think its running lean i keep hearing a pinging for about 3 minutes during start up. scared to run it in place for a long time because it seems to be getting pretty hot and not sure if its getting to the point of it being dangerous

I ended up taking the whole carb off taking the float and the diaphragm and cleaning with fresh gas. Also ran a bunch through the whole carb body it self bunch of black sludge came out. Im installing a fuel line filter now, seems it doesnt have one installed someone never installed one again after changing the line i think

Any idea where the black stuff is coming from? Tank or possibly the gas lines are breaking down inside? This does happen and you can usually tell by squeezing the hose and feel how weak it is.   If so swap the hose as well and put the filter in. Hows the inside of the tank look?

Havent checked the tank yet waiting to run more of the motor treatment through first. Now that I added this motor treatment its burning away all the carbon it smells like. Will run fine for a second and than spit white smoke like crazy on reving, Once i really start giving it just starts puffing white smoke out the back but i stuck the borescope back in and it seems to be cleaning the carbon up went from wet oil soot to cleaner pistons where i can start to see the piston is self again. It doesnt smell rich so i think i got the carb tuned in right but the engine is just blowing smoke at the moment. gotta get that air filter in change it out and see if it improves a bit, if not im guessing the top end gaskets are fu****

Already im starting to feel a totally different bike, Grabbed my portable tach and hooked it up and tuned the idle in after adjusting the carb a bit more was about 300 rpm short. Gave it some gas and really felt some power for once went from sounding like a drip carbed engine on a cart to an actual atv again

Im getting really worried as im getting it more and more tuned in im getting this kinda ringing sound, i mean i checked if its preignition doesnt seem to be, Its not like scraping metal but like a light ting that speeds up as i rev it up and eventually goes away

Tried both a hotter and cooler spark plug sounds about the same, Was gonna see if i need to adjust the ignition timing for if the chain is bad. OR if unluckily its even worse and  piston rings are worn and no good or the block it is scored, Im just hoping its not those last things

Are you sure its coming from the top end and not the clutch ?
Only thing that comes to mind is the valve and cams up top if thats where your sure its coming from.  Pull the valve cover off and inspect everything, cam decompression device and the timing chain slack, valve clearance etc.
What octane gasoline are you running in the bike?

Posted (edited)

Honestly havent even refilled the gas since i got it was given to me with a full tank so i just added the motor treatment to it which said it'd raise the octane of the gas Plus add some special chemical thats ment to clean off carbon. Why would it come from the clutch? i didnt even have it in gear its sitting on stands idling just spitting smoke, Just from my limited knowledge the gas in the oil + the smoke = worn head gasket+ worn piston rings, Unless i have a full on warp of the head from someone overheating it will check the flatness of the surface when i get it off

Bad gas can cause that pinging, even with an octane booster.  I'd drain and clean the tank out, since you mentioned you were seeing a black sludge coming through.

Well sh** alright will unhook the line and drain it than flush it with some diesel and than old gas and refill with new gas, OR will the diesel hurt the tank even if its flushed? should i use kerosene instead? I've always used diesel to clean up my sh** because of the high ignition threshold worse it'll do is pass it into the oil or spit it into the exhaust

You would hear the head gasket leaking. Spray the sides of the head where the gaskets are with windex and crank the engine you will see bubbles.

I would drain the tank of all the gas and that chemical and change the oil as well. Put the proper spark plug and some 87 octane gas and see what happens. If the carburetor is adjusted properly the rest of the carbon will burn off.

Finished the rear u joints already and got the whole rear drive back together and running multiple parts were seized and some serious gunk build up in the break reservoir

Looking good.  One tip on those front drums, if you haven't already, there's a little ratchet to depress to allow the shoes to collapse back in.  They'll then self adjust the next time you hit the brakes.

Yeah its been a bit of a sh** show found a bent tie rod couple others and had to straighten them out asmuch as possible with hydraulics especially the bottom u had a nice bend in it. So did the skid plate. Both the brake calipers were seized and had to do some surgery and they were just filled one side i got fixed the other needs to be replaced. Im now working a bit on the exhaust system and tryna get everything back to shiny for when i install a hunting/performance muffler

Sadly its missing the oil pan for the bottom of the engine So you can see the cam thinking either get a replacement or make one outta thicker sheet metal and a ball peen and use permatex gasket and some bolts

Does anyone have a recommendation of a really Heavy Duty ATV cover. I have bought several and they do keep the water off somewhat, but they are very thin and do not contour with the shape very well and water pools up in the rack louvers. I think i may be looking for a heavy canvas one, if anyone has a recommendation it would be greatly appreciated.

1st problem, Does anyone know where I can find a stock carb for my Timberwolf, I have tried two different aftermarket carbs and they both suck. The machine runs great until it gets good and warm, then it keeps stalling unless I feather the throttle. it will even stall while I'm trying to go from 1st to reverse or vise versa. I took it to a buddy of mine who is a bike mechanic for years, and he told me try to find a factory carb. When I look online from dealers it says "NOT AVAILABLE" anyone have any suggestions ?

2nd, The small tab on the rear axle for towing is to short for even pulling my small yard trailer, I can't even turn a little bit and hit hits. I tried making an extension which worked great as far as length, but it bends the tab and then the extension drags the ground. I have an idea of what to do to fix it, but wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and see how you solved it.

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.
