Maybe do a little simple testing on the kill switch, ignition switch and  stator coil. Could be something  simple. First start at the kill switch by opening it up to make sure there is no water inside. Second wiggle the ignition key and see if that works, sometimes the contacts inside wear away a bit so wiggling may show spark hence a new ignition may be needed. If not lastly you have to do a test on the stator coil and ignition coils.
All of the above testing needs to be done with a tester so of your somewhat familiar a tester it should be no problem.

So when trying to start bike today I found a bunch of the wiring harness was burnt all together I called my local bike shop and just my luck they can't get me the wiring for it they can get everything else but that so my new problem is the wiring spent hrs up and down the net looking for a wire diagram with no luck so if some one can help me out with that this would be great

Well that's kinda good that at least you found the problem. Is it localized to one area that you can just cut out the bad stuff and splice in new ? In addition to that you have to also fond out why it happened in the first place.
I have a few diagrams for that atv but there are a few different models.  What area of tye harness is burnt up ? Maybe post a few pics.

At this point I just wanna start off all fresh with the wire I started to test the wires and there is no point trying to Mickey mouse by cut and replace just go all new only thing I can still use is the connections

Its a 88 not 98 correct? Sorry to ask again but I was half asleep this am when i read this.  I agree with putting all new wiring in but if you cant find one then you have to make due.  There were other kawasaki atvs that the harnesses were the same. Maybe the lakota.

Listen its a wire harness. Its not rocket science. Its dirty at worst. Plus the seller has a 100% positive reviews page.

A spray can of contact cleaner on the plugs, fresh tape and dialectric grease on all plugs after its all re wrapped in tape and its a new harness.  As long as its not burnt up its fine and by the pics and the sellers history he knows what a burnt harness looks like.
Even if you were to build your own and i have on many which worked great and felt great to actually build one but, the time spent (2 days minimum), effort and roughly about $50 bucks in material it would be cheaper to put the oem harness on.   Not trying to push this on you just trying to let you know I've been down the path before and what worked out the best.

Hey guys it's been a while but trying to take a crack back at the wiring of my kawasaki bayou 220 just don't know what gauge wire I should be using I'm starting from scratch and don't wanna go to big bit don't wanna go to small with wiring as I don't wanna have to go through this again

All the harness repairs i do i use 14 gauge, if i was making a harness from scratch

i would probably use 12 gauge. I just redid a bayou 220 with melted wiring, missing

the starter relay, the ign relay mostly all wiring was gone was just left with 5 strands

of wire out of the main harness, Just get a diagram take your time. I used a sharpie

to hi light the circuits i was working on, makes it a little easier. Good luck Az

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.

So we are almost a month into winter and I've been so busy working on my house that up until today, I didn't realize that we just haven;t gotten any real snow yet to warrant putting the plow on my grizzly. So that got me thinking, what are the latest plows out there and what ATV plows are the best? I've got 2 snow plows for my grizzly, a quadboss pile driver atv plow set up and a snowsport ATV plow. They are both a bit dated now and I tend to stick with the snowsport due to ease of use and I just like it so much. So if you have a plow on your ATV, please let us know what it is and post a picture with your atv/plow would be awesome. Would also like to know what you like and dislike about it.
This is back a while when I did a write up on these 2 plows.... in 2009 I got the snowsport and in 2012 I got the quadboss.
